Hello everyone! (to save yourself the read my question is at the bottom)
I would like to start by saying thank you in advance to anyone who answers my post! I'm new to mushroom cultivation and would like to learn some basic to advanced mycology!
So I began by purchasing a diy kit from a reputable source. Before receiving my kit I started to do some research. Originally i planned on just cultivating, flushing a few times to see if this is for me. Needless to say after doing some extensive research I've found myself here with ever growing questions!!!
First I have decided to use a small amount of my mycelium culture to inoculate some cakes I will be preparing for a fruiting chamber. I'm very confident in my abilities to cultivate, now my worry... I'm not as confident that I wont contaminate my new cultures as I inoculate them...
I've read enough comments from not the nicest cultivators on here... So if you aren't here to give advice, please don't give at all. To those here to help, I thank you from the heart!
Now my questions. What are the proper precautions to make a contaminant free environment? Also best ways to fight contaminants during fruiting? (I have the understanding its much less difficult at this point) Is there a Hp level for water best suited for mushrooms? Or even mineral additives that would benefit them more than tap water (I have the understanding tap water is fine but if its a benefit I would like to know)
Thank you again! Sorry about the novel

All sterile work is to be done in a sab. Everything up until spawning should be sterile. Brush up on your sab teks and how they work. Spawning and fruiting is done in open air. Far from sterile. Don't need to worry so much about sterility if you have clean spawn

Well in my improve your sterile techniques link in my signature there's a section on still air boxes. If you would like to be sterile and have clean spawn, you should read the whole thing actually lol. You can also search sab teks or something as well.
