where to buy a suit that will last several years--- time for a tailor?

I typically buy my suits from men's warehouse but they rarely last longer than a couple years if that. My blue suit I just bought in march already has a seam tear in the pants. I'm tired of paying out the ass for really shitty quality stuff, a lesson I've already learned in my journey of buying outdoor gear. I'd be willing to pay $1,000 or maybe a little more per suit if it lasted 5+ years. I commonly have to wear a suit for work and I have a weird body type with a relatively narrow, lanky frame which makes finding premade suits an extremely laborious process. As part of my hiring process, I was guaranteed at least a $10,000 bonus at the end of my first year which I'm going to mostly spend on a new wardrobe of some nice shit. Is $1,000 enough for a badass custom suit? I would hope so. What kinds of things should I be looking for when deciding on suits?

I don't know fully, I do know I do need a new suite myself. A nice solid one! Also that a tailor can go a long way with valuable clothing. Be able to make repairs and alterations. But im all ears in finding out the sweet suit shop.

I'd probably suggest going to a high end tailor in person so that they can fit it perfect for ya. You know how much it'd suck if you spent 1400+ and got a suit that fits slightly weird or uncomfortable.

Haha yea I think so too. Not too sure... Thankfully, I pretty much have my whole outdoor setup with lifetime warranty on pretty much everything so I'm set there more or less. Gotta pick up a ski pass and renew my car registration which is gonna set me back pretty heavy. I really need to focus more on work. I've hit my bonus level a lot faster than I had foreseen. I did some number crunching and I already have $375,000 in fees that have already been brought in the past 6 months or in queue to disburse by the end of the year. If I can hit $500,000 in fees by the end of my year in march, I should get a 20k bonus.

Then you need a suit that's super fly. I'd probably look up high end tailors in your area and see reviews or just talk to them. Tailors know quite a bit about what would look good or whatever.
If you can't find something you like, I'd get them to take your measurements anyways. That way you can get the exact size from etsy. If it still needs some slight adjustment, then take it to a local tailor.
But I gotta ask, how many of your clients are faking their injury for money? Is that a common thing, or just some weird myth(or whatever you call it)

I'd say almost all of them are injured. It's pretty rare that I think someone is faking it although I've definitely seen it. Like one dude claimed that he was injured and the doctor saw him through the window changing the channel on the overhead TV on the TV itself and then the doctor came in the room and the client claimed he couldn't raise his arms. If the insurer suspects fraud, they will definitely put the person under surveillance. Credibility of injury is often a problem where the client has pain "everywhere" and is the mopey type that has been on disability for ages. I actually have such a case right now and the lady said she wants "enough to be comfortable for the rest of her life" like she just hit the lottery. It's extremely difficult with those kinds of people as the reality is she will never see that kind of money in a million years and she thinks she is entitled to it and will complain to the partners if she doesn't get it. Really, I think the best approach there is to get them in deposition as soon as possible and they will inevitably get destroyed and that will help gravitate their expectations back to earth.

So you don't go for the big bucks? I bet some lawyers would thrive with cases like that.
But it deserves those people right.

The problem with a case like that is they present horribly to a jury. The cases tend to be extremely complex from a medical perspective due to a lengthy medical history. For example, I'll get a slip and fall case with a client with a low back pain aggravation with rampant degenerative disc disease and no clear way to apportion what pain actually came from the low back. They will of course adamantly allege that no part of the fall was their fault even though the obstacle was in plain view. The client will then of course blame all of their problems on the latest trauma even though that is objectively far from true. In general, people that I have as clients who are aging, "complainers" without actually trying to solve any problems, and very entitled without basis tend to be in poor health with waning credibility.
A client that is an upstanding person that has a real job and is likeable will get way more money. Jurors are EXTREMELY reluctant to give any money to a person that presents as if they just hit the lottery by getting injured.

Hahahahaha indeed.... looks like ill have 2-3 trials this fall. Haven't been to trial since my criminal defense days on 2011. We shall see how it goes. My super chill vibe tends to mesh well with the jurors. If i can get 10 trials in the next few years, i should have job security for at least a while.
