Will This Casing Plan Work?

Hey Guys. I am completely new to growing mushrooms, but I started and so far everything looks good. I am using 2 old pickle jars standing at about 5 inches in height with a brf tek, which have already been sanitized, inoculated, etc. I already have some mycelium growth in both jars and now I am begging to concoct a plan for a casing grow setup. Can you guys make any tweaks or critiques to this plan based on your guys' experience? 1. allow jars to colonize 2. acquire casing container and substrate sterilize it etc. 3. dump dry verm layer out (the barrier in the jars) 4. CRUMBLE contents of jar with a spoon and pour into casing container by doing substrate, BRF, Substrate, Brf, Substrate. 5. Cover container until substrate colonizes. 6. Put casing container in fruiting chamber and wait for the magic to happen. Will this plan work? THANKS!

Got pics of the jars? If they are as big as I think you will have a hell of a time reaching 100% colonization

The jars have already colonized more than 15% in about 2 or 3 days after seeing the first dot of mycelium

that is true. Do you have any tips or critiques about anything I have done so far that I could change?

Sure. What you're doing is simply referred to as a bulk substrate. A casing is a layer is optional and is applied later after %100 colonization of the substrate.
What fruiting chamber do you have in mind?

wait, so are you saying that I do not need a separate bulk substrate, I could just crumble the cake into a container? and I am aiming for an incubated opaque sterilite container.

Most people crumble them into a coir/verm mixture and use them just as they would grains to bulk.

So would this work: Crumble my BRF cakes and put it in a container with a pattern of Verm, Cake, Verm, Cake, Verm?

If you have nothing else, then I would crumble the cakes into a container and case it with a layer of verm....keep it moist.

Don't spray it or add the verm until it is 100% colonized in the tray. And just tap water.
