Most definitely yes. I was made a moderator of this forum while I was working full time for the government. (I no longer do)
I am sure lots of other users are employed by various governments.
If any governments are monitoring the shroomery in any official capacity, they have not made their presence known.

That has nothing to do with the government. People start and stop posting for all sorts of reasons. Usually when someone just disappears without warning, it means that they got a girlfriend.
Governments do a lot of google searches, so forums that are accessible to google should be assumed to be read by governments acting in their official capacity. This forum, Security & Safety requires that you are a registered user. It is less likely that government agents register an account, though of course it is quite easy for them to do.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter much, no one has ever complained that their shroomery posts got them in trouble. If one of my posts gets me in trouble I will scream bloody murder, as would anyone else - hopefully.

Superficially, perhaps.
I don't think the DEA would want to waste time trying to investigate people on an internet forum. They would need a warrant in order to get the information they need to even START an investigation. In 99/100 cases it would most likely prove to be a waste of time, anyway.
At least, that is what I think.

They wouldn't need a warrant, they would need a subpoena. It is easier to get subpoenas than warrants. Still kind of a pain though - police do not troll the internet for drug busts, they just arrest the people who fall into their laps.

Of course. It always foolish to not be the safest possible and whether theres not a lot of pressure today; Doesnt mean there wont be tomorrow.
It would be foolish to assume that the location of these servers arent known. Also monitored at root level.
With that said I would self scrub photo's for geo data, etc. Outta of headers.
Connect with Tor.
Crypt, if you get busted ya dont want them getting data off your comp to help prosecute. Saying oh my dog/cat/friend wont help and can actually add the charge of conspiracy (20 years).
For 99% of us this wont matter. You dont know what you'll be up to next year, remember the internet doesnt forget.

Probable cause goes stale in days or weeks - old data can't be used to secure a warrant.

What makes you say that, and what do you mean by stale?
This is just one example but they didnt arrest at least one of the DoS'ers for a whole year after he was DoS'ing the Church of Scientology.

If they have probable cause that you have drugs, they have to act on it quickly. After a few weeks, it is likely that the drugs would have been consumed or sold, so a judge won't sign a warrant based on stale evidence.

Not applicable to drug laws. If they catch someone doing something, they have until the statute of limitations to expires to file charges. Warrants work differently.
