Gymnopilus luteus? Found on a stump, egregious, after rain Southern MA
    #22319017 - 10/01/15 12:48 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

think these are gymnopilus luteus, found in southern MA today. They were growing on a hardwood stump in grass.

They are too yellow, I think, to be junonius. I also, by sheer luck, saw a flood of jack o laterns after I picked these two towns away and the difference is obvious.

Please help?

What Mr. Keenan said.

They're a decent edible, but must be cooked well before consumption.  If you do want to try eating them make sure to only try a small amount first, some people have issues with them, gas or stomach upset.
