size for casing tray?
    #2231773 - 01/09/04 05:09 PM (20 years, 2 months ago)

hello everyone. I need some help on deciding a good size for trays used for casing 4 mycobags in one. Does it effect the size of the flushes? Also i was thinking of using perlite but im worried about droplets forming and i was wondering if anyone had any good solutions for that problem. The environment in which they will be will be in the low 60's so i was thinking about putting a heating pad on top of the rubbermiad container and fooling around with it till i hit a good consistent mid 70 range, but i dont know if this would cause condensation to form? Any advice would be awesome.

If you are casing 4 mycobags in the same casing I would start with something about the size of a large rubbermaid. Since the casing will take up the whole bottom of the rubbermaid and you will have some sort of casing layer on the top there is no need for perlite because the casing layer itself will provide for proper humidity, droplets shouldn't be a problem really. Stick the heating pad under the terrarium after you play around with the heat settings on the pad some. You want the pad to be about 80 degrees. That should help.
