Strumpling, is it possible to get better defined edges between the colours on #2? I really like that one. 
Nothing like sipping a vodka smoothie, listening to some IN FLAMES, and taking a look at some good art work.

anyone know why my comp does this?: Save picture as... saves it as a bitmap, even if the image is a jpg. ??????

I had that problem once. try clearing out your temporary internet files and restarting your PC. it worked for me.

I was experimenting with some animation using those images.
you can download one clip here (right-click and save as).
it?s exactly 666kb  and it?s in mpeg4 format.

I wish I could post a less compressed, higher quality version, but the file size would be too big.
I'm just getting started in 3d animation. right now I just do it for fun when I'm bored or stoned. of course, I wasn't high or anything when I made that

I'm also just starting to get into the 3d programs, Maya to be exact. Pretty beastly stuff might i add.
Which program did you use for this?

I used 3dsmax. I never used Maya but I hear it's pretty good too.
I've also used Worldcraft and Valve Hammer editor for making maps for games. that's how I got started in 3d modeling.

Cool, I always wanted to make maps for various games (quake 3 engine stuff) but q3Radient never made it to the mac (those editors never do  ). I got my start with bryce a while back but that program was really limiting.
Let's see some more 3d stuff when you have it

I think your first problem is using a mac
I've used Bryce too. heck, I've even used VistaPro! remember that one? that was way back in '94 or something when I was in high school. ah those were the days. I remember using an editor for making levels for Wolfenstein3D - it was just a 64x64 grid with square walls and sprites for objects. and then when Doom came out, I made some maps for that and a few other games like half-life and counter-strike. but I really like 3dsmax. you could do really cool stuff like radiosity lighting and of course raytracing and you can even use an .avi as a texture map, so you could have like a really trippy color-cycling fractal on a mushroom model. I'll try to post something later. the only problem is the file sizes for those clips.

alright here's a short clip demonstrating animated texture maps (500kb, mpeg4). I got tons more stuff, some short films, but they're hundreds of megabytes so I can't post them.
here's a still from that clip:

(why do animated gifs look so crappy?)
when I do any more small projects (<5mb) I'll post them in this forum.
