Agar: Which Sector to Cut From?

Hey guys, I did a Golden Teacher spore transfer to agar a few weeks ago. Now I'm looking for the healthiest, most vigorous growth (obviously ). I know that I have a splotch of bacteria on one side so no need to mention it haha.
Here is the plate as it stands. The spores were dropped nearest to center as possible.

And here is how I have it divided up. The cyan lines are just reference lines and the green lines are areas that I think are the best spots to pull wedges off for the first transfers. I'm thinking that the bottom right is probably the best overall, even though the plate doesn't look very rhizomorphic in general . The bottom left appears to be pretty cottony growth even though the photo might make it look rhizo. Tell me what you think!

Okay so I am pretty new to the game, but I would love to take a crack at which spot look best and see if someone more experienced agrees?
Firsly, I think you may have waited a little too long. Your first transfer should be as soon as you are able to identify healthy mycelium. Less chance for contamination or overgrowth from MS.
But I would guess that 1 o'clock is your best bet. How did I do? lol

except imo as you've already guessed op, definitely the bottom area. It'll go rizmorphic as hell in a xfer or 2. The top just looks too thin and wispy for liking. It's best to be very thorough

Thank you! This helps me out a lot. I would worry that the cottony portion of the bottom right and irregularity of the growth might be a sign that it isn't as healthy as the top portion.

I must disagree. I can think of 3 different contaminations that look like the stuff on top. Trichoderma, verticillium, and some weird cobweb like thing I had once. But on the bottom right, and even bottom left I've seen thick areas just like those turn rizmorphic, organized, and clean af in a transfer or 2.

Nice- Thank you so much for your input. I'll put it to work when I am making my selections for my next transfers.

I'm not saying the stuff on top is bad, just the bottom isn't as much of a gamble. I love agar. You get used to the myc, and just know what it should and shouldn't look like after a while. Also really helped making that thread haha.

I've read it and followed it, Sir. Your advice is likely why I've been as successful as I've been with agar. As much as I post, I read much more!
I have quite a bit of experience of mixing and pouring agar as well as working with bacterial broths, slants, discs, etc. but usually when I get fungal spores my plates are lost. So I have no experience with mycelium except with how to identify hyphae and how to toss the dishes.
I also have no experience working without a flow hood. This SAB is a pain in my ass but I'm adjusting.
I poured 40 more plates last night. 20 PDA, 20 MEA. Transferring tonight.

Thanks guys for the quick responses. I'll be taking the 5 o'clock section as soon as I have the time to set up the SAB again. I made like 6 plates all at the same time as well. Do you think it'd be better if I just made new ones since the current ones may be drying out a bit at this point?

if the agar starts pulling in from the sides, its too old. but i use 2-3 week old agar a lot stored at room temp.

Thanks! And I forgot how heavy I actually poured the agar. I transferred wedges last night and they were surprisingly thick. So I think I have several weeks till the edges start coming up.
Mad Season, I ended up taking wedges from the 5, 3, and 1 o'clock positions just to see what they all do. I figured it couldn't hurt.
For each wedge I ended up flipping them upside down so they colonize the plate faster.
