How does one avoid balding? I don't know if it's daily stresses, or hormonal, or genetics, or what, but this isn't acceptable. Finasteride didn't quite work for me.

A lot of people work out to blow off steam, which means they may be stressed, and then they use their gym membership as an excuse to eat whatever, so maybe diet does have some part in it. I should eat more avocado BLT sandwiches.

i do know that testosterone contributes to balding. a gym membership might boost your testosterone and make u loose hair faster

Hahaha you can't avoid it young grasshopper. You must embrace it, spike up your receding hairline like johnny fucking rotten. That was my plan, my Dad was bald at 25 so I figured I'd have the same luck. So far I'm 30 with a full head of thick hair. It must have skipped a generation, my son is fucked.

The balding aspect comes from DHT, which I was trying to block using finasteride, but I needed 1mg doses and my doctor would only prescribe me 5mg pills which I had to cut in half, which was still too much.

I read some place that you get your hair genetics from your mothers father, is this true?

it's random based on the variability in your closest ancestor's genetics

I heard that as well, and I don't know her biological father, so I have physical reference of what I may turn out to be, other than a possibly a father that can't commit to his family

If it runs in your family, there's not a whole lot you can do. If the dad is bald, chances are very good any sons will be bald too.

Nope. My mother's dad was bald and I certainly haven't gone bald.

Huh, and my father never did either, so I guess it's just stress related perhaps.

I have a heavily receding hairline and it started in my mid 20's. I'm following the same pattern my father has which quite frankly, fucking sucks.
NOT MY PIC
This is basically what I'm dealing with, I keep my hair short as hell, so it's even more painfully obvious. It's only getting worse as well. I used to have a strong hair line and even a widows peak. It's at least receded a couple of inches.
I'm just going with it though. Fuck it. I'm going to take my balding with some dignity and accept it. Once it gets to be as extreme as what my dad has (like completely bald on the top of his head except for one circle the size of a soda can in the middle of his head) I'm just gonna start shaving my head. I'm not gonna try to regrow my hair or prevent it from happening. Lot of wasted time and effort for nothing.
And no you definitely don't get your hair genetics from your mother's father. My grandpa has a full head of hair that has not receded a MM. It's just all grey. For that matter, both of my grandfathers are the same.
--------------------
With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way. I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today. Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. You're part of a machine, you are not a human being With your face all made up, living on a screen. Low on self esteem, so you run on gasoline

Thank you for your responses gentlemen.
My dad had some balding going on in pics I have seen of him, I was told he was in his 20's in the pics, but me and my bro have good heads of hair. So far I have made it to 32 years old and still have a thick head of hair, hope things stay this lush.

I wish that was the case with me My dad is 70, his hairline receded but he still has a full head of hair, took him till like 50 before it started receding, my moms dad died with a full head of hair, my dads dad died with a full head of hair, and even my great grandparents died with a full head of hair.
I'm only 23 and my shit is receding fast as fuck, now I get like anxiety about picking up girls because I feel my hair looks fucking dumb no matter what I try to do with it.
does anyone know if there's anything besides genetics that can cause hair loss? No male on either side of my family has had hair problems like I'm starting to go through at a younger age than all of them.

stress and testosterone and poor nutrition can speed up the balding process

Too much or too little testosterone? It's been receding rather quick IMO and while only noticeable on my hairline ATM, all I have to do is lean over a counter and rub my head lightly and like 30 hairs fall out and would probably continue if I kept trying, if I get a shower I get a lot of hair stuck all over my hands when I wash my hair(probably like 30, just on my hands alone, god knows what fell out as it was being washed) and this all started within like the last year. If I even rub my fingers through my hair and pinch my fingers together lightly and lift up, at least like 3-5 are coming out between my fingers every single time.

Baseball caps may contribute.
Make sure you aren't scratching with stress.
I "milk" my head with my fingertip pads, stimulating microcirculation. Then tap the skull with fingertips.*
Rosemary shampoo could be good, possibly tea tree oil on the scalp after showers.
This explains the hair qigong:

-------------------- Favorite entheogen experiences in descending order: 1)Combo of oral DMT + smoked Bufotenine 2)Amanita (urine drank twice) 3)Mushrooms > Achuma 16"+cid(still need higher dose Achuma)> Cid (still need high dose) 4)Morning Glory-HBWR (+cumin, cinnamon aldehyde adducts) > Methyl chavicol (need more activators) 5)Salvia (need to try quid)
All readable matter in the above post is ficticious... any similarities to real life are purely coincidental. Blessing.
