Thanks man. It's just always nicer to pull a big haul when you're trying to sway opinions. What we've learned (with this one tub) was that spawning, casing, and poly all at once gave us a pin in 7 days and will be harvested in a total of 15ish days. The control tub (standard way) has yet to pin. So yes, this shows huge potential

Hell yea. I'm building 6 gt tubs this weekend. They will all be polied at spawning and three will be cased. The other three will not receive a casing through the whole run.

Yea. I either run coir/verm 50/50 or straight jiffy. I'll be mixing my own casing with peat next time. Here's a great tek on it. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22091522/fpart/1/vc/1

Thanks man, I picked up some peat a while back with casing in mind cause I wanna get into pans, and I'm working on a PEU project.
and wait,
you run a casing out of coir/verm?
isn't that just a top layer?

Casing. I don't do top layers. When I've used coir/verm for a casing, it is after fully colonized.

but wouldn't it just colonize the "casing" and then fruit just like it would have without it?
I'm confused. I thought casing layers were supposed to be non-nutritious?

They are supposed to be non nutritious. I only used coir when i didn't have jiffy. And truth be known, jiffy is pretty damn nutritious. I spawned a quart of ape to a quart of jiffy once and grew a dry ounce and a half. That's why peat ftw

So given coir/verm or jiffy which would you pick as having better results?

Jiffy. It is less nutritious. But it's a close call. Problem with jiffy is lately it's had a lot of twigs in it. Peat ftw

I wish I'd done this
I've already put mine into fruiting conditions, do you think if I cased it now pins would form quicker??
Also, what is jiffy and have you ever cased with 100% verm?
Sorry if this already been answered but just seeking your expertise

I spawned an uncased GT clone tub 6 days ago with poly. It was colonized in 3 days and I just noticed a handful of knots today. They were probably there yesterday though, I just didn't look. Im not touching it or opening it either. Usually I case and fruit, then mist. When I run this clone my usual way, I usually don't see knots til day 10 or 12 or so. Damn this is fast. I like it so far :thumb up: I hope this works. It'll save me a lot of time.
I'll update you guys later with my cased and fruited upon spawn PEMS tub.

Idk. They are a little secretive with their recipe. Similar products of different brands to have turkey manure in it though

Do you not case all the time azur? I've got b+ on the go, would you case them? I wasn't planning on casing them but this is only my first grow, cheers.
