as far as spawning. i put the liner in. then put the poly in before spawning. but i use a turkey tin and it flips over nice and easy into the liner. so there isn't much mess to clean up. nothing usually falls out of the tub for me.
and on that note:
here are a few subs using this method.

Pastywhyte said: PE run with casing at spawning is pretty well done. Coir case is still finishing up and one of the coir case tubs is weak but, such is ms. Regardless the coir performed far better than I expected blob wise, only a few blobby fruits in either coir case tub. Given how bad the coir shit the bed with my last go of it, I am nearly ready to suggest that switching to a veg state after some tropisims associated with pinning have occured, is a major contributor to blobbing. I am curious now as to how a mixed PE tub with no top layer/casing would perform if the spawn run occurs in a high GE state. I need to run a few clones now.
Jiffy case

Coir case

Anyway I will stop clogging up this thread. I am sold on this method and it has me excited about future experiments with PE.
big difference there in the jiffy vs coir. i suspected that might be the case. im having some trouble with the pe using coir casings. its hit or miss. sometimes it won't even fruit. sometimes it blows up. id love to try jiffy, but ive never seen it locally. i guess i could make the effort to get some peat and mix it myself. but damn, im way too lazy for that.
keep a record and see if the jiffy makes the difference. seems most of the best grows use jiffy.

Yeah the coir is a bit of a wild card, I really wanna get to the bottom of it. Coir tubs are both a little behind schedule but at least one looks to be giving a decent pull.

Both PE tubs started pinning yesterday. Azur's method has given me a healthier looking substrate and pins faster. Even though I used CVG I'm not having a problem with blobs, yet. I had some stuff go down in my world that resulted in me neglecting things a bit so the substrate kinda dried out on the sides where my top holes (polyfil had been pulled) causing some yellowing of the substrate. I'll get it dialed back in now that my head is back on straight.
Azur's method- 20 days after spawn and casing- pins!

Standard- 27 days post spawn

I did a mini mono with 11 pf jars of Mazatapec MS. Spawned to half a brick of coir and 2 quarts of poo (maybe a little less, it was kind of eyeballed). I did like this tek, medium poly in the holes at spawn. I cased with 1/4 inch Jiffy. Can I add my pics to this thread as it goes? I spawned yesterday and myc is already pushing through the casing. I am very excited about this harvest. This strain has done very well for me the last few times I've grown on just pf cakes, but this is the first time I've done a mini mono, and the first time I've used cpoo.

Azur idk how much experience you have with Pans but do you think this would be a viable option for them?
I had planned on using a poo supplemented cvg sub with a cvg casing and poly all at spawn
or should I just wait? I still want to try the cvg casing for pans but I've never grown them so it doesn't quite feel right to try experimenting.

Wikidzon spawned on the 13th. 7qts of oats to a bucket of cvg and cased with cvg/stuffed with poly at spawning.

I spawned to this early yesterday morning. Here is the growth today. It's poking through pretty good in some spots and also looks like it might be starting to knot. Should I patch the casing on this? Or just let it go? Also, how does this look to you? Like I said this is my first bulk attempt.

I'm also curious if this will work for pans. I want to try those once I get used to bulk.

I really don't see why it wouldn't. I have tamp on grain, so I'll give it a shot with those.

Came home to see a bunch of shrooms all over. No knots when I left 4 days ago but these guys are almost ready to pick. Everything looks good, minus a bunch of smaller aborts at sub level. Not sure what that's about.

Picked most of the tubs tonight. 15 days to harvest. Not sure when pins formed. This method rocks.

I just finished up my mini AA+ tubs 3rd flush. Total results per flush were 639g, 376g, 263g, totaling around 4.32 oz dry. I used 3 quarts of of WBS from a G2G and sub was CVG + chicken manure. I spawned/fruited on 12/5/15 and just wrapped up 3rd flush today. I wondered if this method would affect future flushes and I don't think it will. Going to do this with all my tubs from now on, I reckon.
