Been following this thread since I got back into growing. I took a few years off and come back to see all this crazy talk about 'faster colonization and pinning'. I gotta hand it to you guys, you did well. Thanks for putting in the time to research all of this.
I didnt have a chance to poly my holes, but I will next time. Also, this casing at spawn time, golden. I'll be giving that a whirl too. I cant argue with time to pins being reduced by half. Amazing. I already started working with GWLC, things look good so far. Off topic as it may be, is there any other good news that has come in my absence? I haven't worked mush in three years so I'm eager to learn from where I left off.

I would look into eatyualive's work. He is into all kinds of inoculants and pushes the envelope on all that he does.

My AA+ mini with 3 quarts of spawn, chicken poo + CVG. I'm not sure when I had pins, but the harvest date was 22 days after spawning. I checked averages for that tub in particular and from spawn to harvest it was 32. So I guess I shaved 10 off for that tub. Unfortunately I decided to forgo a liner and harvest is a bitch once again, but whatever.
My 2 66'ers of AA+ are knotting up now too.

So I assume it's the same principal for non pe,ape where we don't need a casing? Just stuff poly?

I think you still want a casing because introducing FAE from the beginning would aid in drying out more so? But I didn't case this AA+ mini and it's doing alright.

i use casings or no casings. they both work. but if you have a dry environment with low rh. this is probably the case. with 50%rh you shouldn't have any issues without a casing.

perfect timing, I was wondering about this myself. Should be spawning an AA+ tub next week using this method. Lately Rh has been in the low 60's so I could probably get by without but I may try with and without a thin casing to see what works best for me.

No biggie either way, nothing a little bit of misting can't fix. Regular cubies are so forgivable.

Here's 2 66's of AA+ that I cased and fruited on 12-21-15. They're both knotting right now. I think they could both use a misting. Any objections or go for it?

Also I should probably use Poly balls to adjust on these tubs instead of my ironed Poly filters. Too late now!

I spawned 3 qts of Chron's KSSS to four quarts sterilized CVG. I did tape to holes for a couple days until the grains exposed on the surface recovered. Three days in now.

Shit. Holes were in the wrong arrangement and taped for too long. Must've made it a perfect environment for the trich monster i just noticed. The other tub is popping like crazy. That dumb tub is on loan from a friend that just drills holes willy nilly, it seems.
