So after 5+ years of lurking I'm finally going to make my first post. Just looking for confirmation of my latest find. As soon as I saw the pins I started taking pictures because I had my suspicions that these guys were going to be big. Looking for a sanity check and adding some bonus pictures from the growth cycle over the past week.

Habitat: Wooded area in my front yard, Northern Maryland. Growing next to a freshly fallen tree, maybe maple
Gills: hymenium adnate/porous
Stem: 3-4 inches
Cap: Diameter is 6-7 inches, brown, smooth, convex
Spore print color: White
Bruising: Darker brown color on stem from handling
There are a few more (the three pins pictured on the first day) that are going to be big as well but I want to let them mature a little before going back in.

It does look like them but then again porcini aren't known to bruise, I don't think.

Maybe I grabbed them with soiled hands? I'm not entirely sure what happened with the stipe... They seem to fit every other characteristic for a cep.

Does the pore surface peel away from the rest of the mushroom cap? If the tree was dead/dying I would lean towards Polyporus Radicatus for it. I find these regularly in the fall here.

Polyporus Radicatus seems to fit also, I can peel the pore surface from the cap but it is very difficult, you just killed my day man. All of the photos seem to jive from what I'm seeing though. Thanks for the reply.
The tree was only cut down a few months ago and was otherwise healthy before being chopped. I thought I might have hit the jackpot.

Sorry man, that was my initial hope when I first saw a button in my family's woods. At least they are pretty tasty.
