Is this a Gymnopilus Spp.

Wood chip bed.
Yellow gills
Thick deep brown spore color. Almost red.
Smells like, delicious.

Cap lacks texture of typical large Gymnopilus.

Chew and spit - tingles slightly bitter. Not bitter enough to earn it a Gymnopilus distinction.
No where near as bitter as Thiersii.

I don't recommend the "chew and spit" method with wild fungus especially in the PNW. Those look quite a lot like galerina sp. One of the most toxic.

In the future I'd recommend take detailed notes and pics and post them long before you put then in your mouth.

Ive never seen them a Galernia so yellow before :shrug:
