How long?

Hey, I just got done boiling my jars...How long should I wait till I inject them?? I was told about 3 hours. I was just wondering how long the jars stay sanitized when done boiling?

Overnight is best.

You dont want the outside to be cool enuf to handle yet have the inside be to hot for the spores, it will kill them.

Patience is a virtue with this hobby.

say you prep a bunch of jars & styerilize them.
how long are the good for befor you "have" to inocolate them?

i would like to have a few extras ready to go, when ever i get the bug...

A good way to know is let one of the jars go and check it twice a day. If they ferment, contam, or go bad, half the time and that should be a safe estimate.

how long have you let the sit?
if i did a few jars today would 4 days be oK?

i am reading to many tek's
every thing is getting jumbled....

i pc tons of jars and just have them sitting around until i get a chance to innoculate, i would estimate that ive let them sit for several months and experienced no problems. some people suggest letting your sterilized substrates sit awhile so u can see if any contams pop-up. but this is hardly a way of eliminating contamination.

in my myco study days, i would always let the jars sit for a week or so. If they are clean nothing will happen while sitting, but if they are contamed, you will get a colorful display.

If you think there cool enough but what to be sure....take a jar and stick it up to your nuts :smile: I find that your ball sack can detect temps much easier then your fingure. And also since your ball sack has the least body heat it can really detect any signs of heat,

hehehe unpractical lol But it works. heh

oh yea and before you do this make sure your ballsack doesn't have any living contaminates atatched to them. Bleach them or do what you got to do.
