Yes, it is. They call it "white tea", not to be confused with the least oxidated form of tea also called white tea.
They called it that because it is customary to offer all guests tea, but when they could not afford it they would just boil hot water and serve that to their guests.
The most popular legend of how man learned to drink tea says a Chinese dude was drinking hot water one day when a single tea leaf fell into his drink, and he was like hell yeah this is awesome and the culture of tea drinking began.

Well as someone living in China I have never heard of anyone drinking hot water because they are too poor for tea. They drink it because they believe it is healthier than drinking cold water, cold water messes up the balance in the body or something like that.
Also they have to boil tap water to make it safe to drink anyway

That's true too. They drink hot water with every meal for better digestion. When they don't have tea, they drink hot water instead. Many Chinese villagers can't afford tea, because it's too expensive to import into their village. Makes sense, no?

Scare tactics. It would take drinking a gallon or two of tea every day for a very long period of time to feel any negative effects at 6ppm of fluoride.
It's also worth noting it's the dust and fannings and extracts that contain higher fluoride contents. The fluoride content of whole leaves is a lot lower.

They would drink both if they could afford it in the rural villages, but they can't. Have you even been to China?
I have. A large number of children grow up without their parents because they can't afford to support them in the village, so they leave them to work in the city while they stay behind to get an education.

If you drink tea, tea is one of the main sources of fluoride in your diet.
People go to lengths to avoid fluoride intake.
Quote:
Things are definitely getting interesting now as fluoride is suddenly getting some well-deserved attention. For 50 years, US government and health agencies have refused to engage in a dialogue about fluoride, let alone reevaluate its position on the purported health benefits of fluoride.
So the fact that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has announced plans to lower the recommended level of fluoride in drinking water by nearly 50 percent in some areas of the country is no small victory.
The new recommended level of fluoride in drinking water will be reduced to 0.7 mg/L, from a previously recommended range of between 0.7 to 1.2 mg/L. For many communities around the US, this new level means a significant reduction in exposure to this hazardous neurotoxin.
But this good news needs to be tempered with the fact that 0.7 mg/L (or 0.7 parts-per million) is still too high. According to the Fluoride Action Network:
The DHHS is making this recommendation on the basis that the levels of dental fluorosis is skyrocketing, a clear sign of fluoride overexposure. A recent government report estimated that 41 percent of adolescents aged 12-15 have dental fluorosis (Beltrán-Aguilar et al.). While this is serious enough, the government has not investigated if these adolescents have suffered any other effects from overexposure to fluoride, nor have they factored in any of the other serious effects associated with fluoride over-exposure.
For example, an infant who receives formula reconstituted with fluoridated tap water at this new level (0.7 ppm), will receive approximately 175 times more fluoride than a breast-fed infant. Formula-fed infants are not being protected with this proposed new level and CDC, EPA and ADA must clearly inform parents, caregivers, and health providers that infant formula should only be reconstituted with non-fluoridated water.
Do you read that? Tea contains 3mg/liter. Fluoridated drinking water contained 1.2mg/liter and that got lowered because it was too high, there were toxic effects. 0.7mg/liter is arguably still too high.
And you say that only 2 gallons a day of 6mg/liter is a problem. Bullshit tactics.

Thats a head in the sand tactic.
The original quote was:

If your tea contains 3mg/liter (which there are many variables to put into consideration to estimating fluoride content), then according to the US Department of Agriculture, you could drink a little over 3 liters a day without any adverse effects. http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/DRI/DRI_Tables/estimated_average_requirements.pdf
One liter is quite a bit of tea to be drinking in one day. That would be nearly 4 1/2 cups of tea everyday. According to the USDA, I could drink more than 10 cups of tea in a day if it had 3mg/liter and have no adverse effects. The average person in Ireland drinks 3 cups of tea a day, the world's highest average.
So..yeah.. scare tactics.

I don't agree, tea has been ingested across many cultures for a long time now, and those cultures and their people managed to get along just fine (and I'm sure live healthy and prosperous lives) all the while drinking tea. So ill take my chances with my 1 or 2 cups a day and report back in 60 years time to laugh about the fact that I could enjoy tea the entire time and still be a healthy individual.

I had an entire wall with about 50 kinds of tea - enough that people joked I could open a shop. A friend & I decided we would try them all one night. We drank about half of them (~25ish) in 4 fl oz gaiwans, and the only adverse effect we had was the constant need to piss.

D.M.T then why was the fluoridated drinking water level lowered? Because the USDA is flat out wrong and lower levels cause fluorosis in significant parts of the population.
Nuds, in other words you don't want to look for what the quality tea is but instead just truck on and see what happens? Quality tea has more acceptable levels, some teas had 40x less than others in that study. Instead of lifelong exposure to high fluoride, how about finding out which teas have low fluoride?
If its something enjoy, wouldnt you want a quality product? Like D.M.T said, higher fluoride content is correlated to lower quality.
Make it excellent. Connaisseur buds, crisp shrooms, gourmet coffee and fine tea.

Presumably they lowered it because of associated teeth problems in young children. It would seem their bone development hasn't been affected, just tooth. Children's teeth can't handle so much fluoride or caffeine, so it isn't advisable to give them much tea anyway, but water is literally required for survival.

That doesn't conflict with what I said. Children shouldn't be drinking any caffeinated beverages for more reasons than just tooth development though.

There's a reasonable chance Asante didn't know that.

I put that in my signature because I know there's a lot of people that peruse Shroomery while tripping. I might take it out though. Hurts my eyes.

GOOD
Tea and chemtrails are made from the same chemical.

Green tea has health benefits but it is high in fluoride and can make you nauseous on an empty stomach. The best tea is organic white tea, and even then you should not drink it on an empty stomach.
Overall all cause mortality for women who drink green tea daily is as much as one third lower! Thats a massive health benefit. For men its slightly less profound but still significant.
Daily organic white tea is a good life extension measure.

Note the variability of 0.1-4ppm fluoride, a tea on the low end of that range doesnt have the fluoride disadvantage.
The White Tea Moonshoe recommends is generally lowest in fluoride, and the highest quality form of any tea is loose leaf, so loose leaf organic white tea is the way to go.
White tea has 3x more antioxidants then green or black tea, another bonus.

Sun King said: Poor Chinese people drink hot water because tea is expensive.
that's just not true
I read this somewhere as well
