Hi,
I'm pretty sure I have a good bunch of Semilanceata but being my first pick ever I want to make sure....
thanks!
Habitat: Grass fields, cows were present 2 weeks before I went picking. Norway.
Gills: dark brown (fresh) light brown (dryish)
Stem: Thin, mostly light brown/very faint yellow, see the pics
Cap: small, see the pics, pencil as a reference
Spore print color: haven't done it
Other information: They just smell like mushroom to me, no weird odor.
I tried uploading the pictures through the site but I just lost 15 minutes of my life without going anywhere. I hope it's fine to post those links...

Thanks! I know you shouldn't mess around with mushrooms so I did my research
Btw, can anyone confirm that there are no poisonous species int he north of Europe that are similar to the Liberty caps? To my knowledge there aren't...

Well it depends how 'similar' you think the mushrooms are! The only ones i can think of are Conocybe species but they are easily to tell apart still. The species that people most commonly come across are Panaeolus, Protostropharia and Mycena species. The Mycena species might be somewhat toxic but they look nothing alike.

I'm pretty anal when it comes to mushrooms, I'm sure I threw away a lot of liberty caps from the same pick just because they were not "exactly" as they should look like.
If the Conocybe species is the closest look-a-like then I think it's pretty safe to pick libs..
Thanks for your help! Now I just have to find some time to try them out

If the fact you have successfully picked only libs first time is a result of the research you have done then i don't think you have anything to worry about anyway. And certainly if you've not picked them before or much before then it is wise to be over-cautious.
