pan cyan on agar question

well i couldnt find anything in the search engine. and no one answered my "first agar" thread so...
this is my first pan cyan grow. i started spores from a syringe on agar. and they have this weird bald spot in the middle of the germination points


can anyone tell me if this is normal/happens? the surrounding tissue looks like fluffy myc...

My theory is the "bald" spots are from the mycelium fighting it out due to multispore inoculation and we are seeing the masses of dead mycelium.

Interesting theory. I think it's just natural for pan cyan tbh. It looks like that all over the surface of a colonized substrate before you case it. Just much more disorganized looking lol. It's thick and thin all over.

@psilo probably going to throw it into a grain jar very soon. So just 1 transfer :smile:

Not really lol. It's fine as is :smile:. I did get from an aggressive thick area, and I like a bit of a genetic variety. Helps for finding clones :smile:
