Habitat:
Southeastern U.S. Approx. 3 mi from the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Found growing near a red maple tree (alive) in the surrounding grass. Last rain was about a week ago. Temp lately has been around 80-85 degrees F.

Gills:
Brown gills

Stem:
White stem. Gets thicker from the cap down. Relatively thin. 

Cap:
White with a brown/orange spot where the stem grows from. Conical and convex.

Bruising:
Brown/black

looks like a conocybe species to me...not active and possibly toxic.

Alright thanks. They have a lot of the same characteristics as Panaeolus cyanescens which are very common in my area, but a few weren't the same so I figured they weren't active. I'm glad I posted before eating them!
