I think it boils down to a priority thing.
do I wanna go to the farmers market to get my produce, then the discount grocery store to get rice and beans, and then the health food shop for spices after work and then spend about an hour cooking dinner, or do I wanna throw in a frozen pizza and relax on the couch?
I get it, but to say vegan foods are unarguably more expensive and tastes like crap is just an uneducated viewpoint.
Exactly.
If you shop smart and know how to season food, a vegetarian/vegan "meal plan" will more likely than not save money in the long run, and taste just fine.

I tried to not eat meat besides fish and lasted like a month. The thing that made me cave in was the fact that all the dishes that I loved and enjoyed had meat in them and resisting them to eat something else got really fucking old.
It's been shown that eating species that are less related to us on the phylogenetic tree decreases our risks of serious diseases. It has to do with the micro RNA's incorporating into our DNA causing mutations. It's still a theory but when I was in school my professor brought it up and he wasn't a fucking idiot.

You obviously already know in your heart that not eating cows, chickens, pigs, and most other sentient things or using their products is wrong. If you want to stop doing, you can stop doing it. If you don't want to do what you already know is right, then don't. The choice is yours.

There is no other animal that creates large buildings, breeds other animals and keeps them inside those buildings for their entire lives and slaughters them by the hundreds of millions yearly.

Melissotarsus weissi Kibale Forest, Uganda, among the most unusual ants. These small Afrotropical myrmicines live in narrow galleries in the bark of particular tree species where they farm armored scale insects. Melissotarsus may be the only animal other than humans to have domesticated livestock for meat production. Ants of this genus are also unusual in that the adults spin silk, produced in glands in the head, to seal the nest entrances.
http://www.antweb.org/description.do?name=melissotarsus&rank=genus
Quote:
Armoured scale insects can only disperse as first-instar crawlers, becoming sessile at later stages. Therefore, the establishment of a Diaspidoid population within the galleries might be realized only if the crawlers moved into or have been introduced to the galleries. Based on current knowledge of this mutualism, we speculate that the ants appear to be a major active participant. The ants introduce the armoured scale insects into their galleries, maintain and control their populations. Ben-Dov (1978) suggested that the scale insects are eaten by the ants. Mony et al. (2007), based on their observations, confirmed this interpretation. The Diaspidoid partner is confined to a closed habitat in which the ants almost entirely control and maintain its population. The benefit to the armoured scale insects appears to be mainly, if not only, the protection from natural enemies.

Not sure what kind of actual documentation of the ants feeding on the bugs has been made, or if it is still only a hypothesis because alternative food sources are not to be found though.
