I personally am a vegetarian and I can say that becoming one is one of the best lifestyle changes I have made.  I don't fully understand veganism though...why would someone want to give up eggs, cheese, and milk?  All are fairly sustainable and eggs are a great source of protein.

When I went vegan I lost 15 lbs and noticed I had more energy. I don't eat junk vegan food though. I don't have any vegan friends. I just do it because I care about how others are treated. Cats and dogs are alot like other farm animals when you get to know them. I think most people would not eat meat if they had to go where the animals are contained and kill it themselves.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Honestly I'd prefer to hunt my own food rather than rely on grocery stores to supply me meat. If anything it'd only make me appreciate the animals death more, like Native Americans who basically held their prey in high regard and respect. They appreciated the animals death far more than some faceless hunk of meat put in a foam tray and wrapped in plastic.

I've also always had a very high "do it yourself attitude". I always prefer to do whatever I can on my own.

Unfortunately that's just not really feasible these days. There is hunting, but it costs way too much unless you just live out in the middle of nowhere and can do it whenever. Where I live, getting a single deer can cost you thousands and take up a week+ of your time.

If you think just because I had to kill and clean an animal myself I'm somehow going to go vegetarian, you are sorely mistaken.

I'll take this time to point you're on the same level as BC. He just got permabanned. I'm patiently waiting for the day you follow suit. He wasn't perma'd for any reason other than the fact than the he was deemed not to be worth the hassle of moderating and offered nothing to the community. I inadvertently know you've already been warned about this shit. Keep it up, you're on the same track as him.

They are not at all sustainable.

The problem is what we feed these animals. Pellets of soy. So now soy has to be grown in extremely large quantities. That costs a hell of a lot of water and surface space dedicated to monocultures.

Then there is all the methane.

And why would you even want to drink dairy? It's not like it's healthy...

BC offered nothing of value, and just troll posted and spam posted constantly. Believe it or not, mods get tired of that shit. He does the same thing. Therefore he is in the same boat as BC was. Through a misunderstanding, I KNOW he's already been warned about this shit, and he doesn't seem to be taking the warning to heart, just as BC didn't. If he doesn't stop being the annoying little pissant he is, he will soon be following BC out the door.

I grow several fields of soy. It is a highly drought-resistant plant and is cultivated in climates that get plenty of rain and soil that retains moisture, ie. such as where I live where there's a lot of clay.

No one waters soy but Mother Nature.

People spout some ridiculous shit...

Then why does it take about 1000 liters of water to make 1 liter of milk? Maybe I misplaced the blame but the problem remains.

Deservedly so. However, I actually offer the community something. You have nothing of value to offer. On the occasions you actually don't post some stupid graem in response to the thread, it's always to say something entirely retarded.

Anyways, like I said, keep it up.

Dairy cows require a lot of water. More than beef cows. Most people dig ponds for their cows to drink, play and shit in, so whatever the real cost of water is for dairy, I am sure it is greatly exaggerated like everything else vegans use to justify themselves.

Cows graze all season except in the winter. While the grass is dead that's when they are fed grains. Very few farmers could afford to feed their herds all year round.

Soybeans will benefit from irrigation in much of the midwest climate, but this year in Ohio it was too wet. My fields look terrible from all the rain, because there needs to be a dry period to spray. That dry period never came, hence early yellowing and stunted crop.

many of the larger producers of beef feed the cows corn  and not soy anyways.

government subsidized corn is the cheapest crop to grow by a longshot, and it gets them fat way faster than letting them graze on grass, so the turn around and space needed are both cut down.

with that said, there's a lot of farms doing it right, but the largest producers aren't getting rich off healthy animals.

You're just eating shitty vegan food.
I've had vegan "meat" that could fool a meat eater.
