Southern CA ID Request
    #22313261 - 09/30/15 10:15 AM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Hey guys first time posting.  Never ingested any type of psilocybin personally and happen to come across these guys growing in my condo complex and wondered if these are possibly active.

Found growing next to a tree where normally mulch and wood chips are placed every month or so for all the plant life around the complex. The area found is always moist and shaded most of the time by the tree.

The cap itself is light brown in the center and fades to a white then to a light grey/blueish color.

Spore Print Color is Black

A coprinoid species, perhaps akin to Coprinopsis atramentaria.

I think it's Coprinellus micaceus. I see the little dots on the cap.

I think you may be right after looking at other photos.  It appears they are edible. Thanks for the quick reply.
