I have a bunch of dried reishi mushrooms. I found a few with some type of lava in them. Im wondering if i can pick the bugs out and still make an extract from them.

Maybe, as long as they did not do too much damage.

Throw your reishi in the freezer for 3 days.

If you don't kill the insects they will destroy your reishi, they may even move on to others. The big ones probably aren't too bad, but there can also be these little fucks that are almost too small to see. They can take several months sometimes up to a year to become active. I have lost a few samples from my herbarium that way.

So if you plan on any long term storage, freeze them first to kill the insects.
