to toss or not to toss

I totally know better than this, but i did some jars in a hurry and realized a few days after inoculation that i left off the top layer of verm. (i know i am dumb, and knew better, was rushing and forgot). Anyways, i let them go and only lost 2 to mold. The rest are fully colonized and im dunking them now. the question is, should i still trash them? a few were a bit more wet than im used to. a couple already had shrooms growing on them. im just sketched out the might be bad or any shrooms that grow could be bad and make me sick. thoughts??

If they aren't moldy or smell shitty then fruit them and see what happens. You can still eat fruits off of a contaminated substrate.

nope, you should fruit them.
the dry verm layer helps prevent contams during colonisation, but is not essential. and once the jars are fully colonised the layer has done it's job and is no longer needed.

it's like clumps of wet mycelium. the cakes did get a tad waterlogged cuz i went overkill with the reptifogger. i'm just going to ignore them and let em dry out a bit.

Before you even plugged it in you had already gone overboard with a reptifogger...

the fogger has worked for me in moderation. the room i use is extremely dry and misting will not even keep up. but they are plenty wet now and the fogger has been removed. could it just be aerial mycelium thats just been saoked to death?

well the previously mentioned questionable cake did fruit slowly. i removed the reptifogger totally and misted only lightly; let them dry out some. the viels seem to be tearing super early and theyre small compared to the first cake i posted. final prognosis?? waterlogged??? since they grew super slow and the viels are tearing early?

already ate some from a previous cake and feeling it!

Final prognosis is that its cakes you can't expect much with such a small substrate. Hit up monotubs if you want big fruits son!
Overall good work! They're looking dry, and need a good dunking after picking.
For future reference hit up this for proper misting: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21595437

Looks like the kind of deformity I've encountered when my casing layer has been too wet for too long. Mushrooms melted together and weird caps. Let it ride, I think you'll get something to show for it.
Besides, it's not the end of the world if a spot of trich shows up. You don't need to run out of your house with your undies on your head prophesying the death of a whole generation of vibrant cakes. Most likely it will have 0 effect on anything else.
Here's a pic of a pan that had a bit of that deformation from water going on. Had another that was even weirder but no photos.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

that's the one thing i've never had hit yet in 3 grows; trich. knock on wood.

Def move on to tubs bro.
-------------------- Considering spores can survive the vacuum of space, I would assume it's safe to say that mushrooms are on every planet waiting for the right conditions to present themselves. What it all boils down to, is aliens are on shrooms.
