So here's an update. Decent amount of pins maturing, though not exactly what I was hoping for obviously. Made some rookie mistakes along the way: substrate uneven, didn't drill out the holes large enough, being impatient, etc.
Now I've got an OK pinset with fuzzy bases, and lots of side growth. It also appears there might be some trich, but I can't really tell if it's bruising from being moved or contamination.
Will keep it updated.

I don't see any trich ,
Increase your FAE a bit, loosen those top holes. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17332777

Thanks for the advice! Look at the third picture, bottom left corner of the sub. Not sure what the blue/green coloration is...
I've realized that my holes were too small (all are 1" diameter), so I've just removed the poly from the tops and super loosened the sides. I've got two more tubs that are about a week behind this one so I'll use the lessons learned here on those and hopefully do a little better.

It's bruised mycelium, you're good, no need to worry. Trich would be a brighter green color.

That flush looks pretty good to me, I don't know what you mean by "it wasn't what I expected"..but then again I fail to even produce anything that isn't green, so I guess my expectations are pretty low. Congrats though.

Most of the fruits have aborted, so that's kind of a bummer. Don't know why honestly, too much/too little moisture or too much/too little FAE. Can't really tell. But thanks anyway!
If you're growing pot, green is a good color
I see that your emoticon thingy says you're depressed, and your subtitle thingy says you're "too pathetic to kill yourself"... Hope you're only kidding man. There's nothing worth doing that.
My girlfriend of 5 years just broke up with me last night, three weeks before my 30th birthday, and the shit sucks. But I've still got shrooms to take care of, and so do you man!

So I've tried and tried, and I think in the process fucked it up haha. The method with the so-called mono tub is eluding me right now
Ended up with a decent pin set, but unfortunately 90% aborts.
So hard to tell if it's too wet/dry, too much/too little FAE.

That is an excellent pinset. That can't possibly be multispore can it? Mine are way more pathetic than that.

It definitely is a MS. And it did WAY better than I thought it would. All the side pins matured as did many of what I thought were aborts on the top.
Final dried weight from first flush:
111.33 Grams (slightly less than 4 oz)
Forgot to take a picture during harvest because I was too excited, but this is from just a few hours beforehand.

I dunked my substrate for about 8 hours and have put it back in its chamber for hopefully flush two!
Also attempted to take clones from the two largest/prettiest fruits...
Finally remembering why I loved doing this years ago
