Yeah I thought of that, but I had so many great flushes with zero change in condition before that. What I believe it to be was that it was getting pretty old for a cake (going on 3 months) now i dont know how old of a cake someone has had before, but it makes sense to me that if the myc was nearing the end of its life, it would sacrifice big meaty fruits for hollow ones so it could drop spores quicker. They grew so fast because there was nothing to the inside of them. I really thought they were going to be amazing until i tried to pick them. either way it is at the bottom of a river now.

Next time you got "spent" cakes stomp em into the ground in a shady wet spot you'll be surprised you'll get a few more flushes, and for some reason they come up meatier and weigh a ton I imagen it's because there's not so much moisture so there's less water weight

its funny you mention that, because i just buried on of my spent mono cakes in one of the more fungi friendly areas of my yard. im hoping spring will bring good things
(i threw the pmp cake into the river because i was tripping balls and the hollow fruits spooked me)

Hollow fruits spooked you??
Easiest way to trigger hollow fruits 9/10 times is to fruit at higher temperatures like 80-90F. Fruiting at lower temperatures like 65F will result in much meatier, more solid stipes.

yeah i just wasnt expecting it, it was like shaking your friends hand and it collapses, so you freak out and run to the door and when you go to turn the handle it collapses, etc etc..

Hollow stipes are... an identifying feature of cubensis mushrooms, like the veil, or the gills. That's pretty funny though.

Well pasty I figured if he was getting meaty fruits in the beginning that maybe humidity or air exchange might had charged with in the fruiting inviroment and caused the more "hollowed stems" yes cubses usually have hallow stems but he stated there was a change in thickness just throwing my 2 cent

Sorry but your "2 cent" was wrong. Hollow stipes are normal for cubes, as was mentioned before but, the degree to which t they are hollow has zero to do with humidity and as far as i can tell very little if anything to do with air exchange. Genetics is a big factor and fruiting temps is also a big factor. If one wants solid mushies they should look into fruiting at lower temps and cloning or isolation.

PE almost always put out a solid fruit regardless of fruiting temps. FYI.

Depending on genetics. Using ms is always a crapshoot.
