The cap is fine these jars are made to autoclave things with.
And listen to kizzle. If you have issues with agar sterilization times its probably because you have potato chunks or dog food in your agar.

For 20 bucks I thought it was going to be half this size LOL.
So do you leave the cap screwed on tight when you PC or loosen it a bit? I think juice said loosen it up?

I leave mine like 1/4 turn loose. Haven't tried it fully tight to be honest. I don't wanna blow up one of these jars. The only times I've busted jars are with plastic lids tightened down on mason jars for LC with the rubber gasket and minimal GE(watman filters). So, I'm hesitant to tighten these down fully even though they are much higher quality than mason jars. Unless someone has repeatedly with no issues.
2000ml is UUUGE! That may be a bit cumbersome to pour. The 1000ml bottles are about as big as I would wanna go, I think. But I haven't handled a 2000ml jar to know. Do let us know how it works out.

Well I can palm a basketball so it actually fits my hand pretty nicely.
I just practiced it in the SAB and if I hold it from the side and move my wrist downward to pour it's really not that bad, it's actually kind of like a pendulum situation and I can rest my hands on my SAB so it doesn't kill me.
I think I expected the 2000ml to be the 1000ml lol. Lets see if I can make lemons out of lemonade

I've done both ways with the lid. It's been fine tightly closed for now. I dont recommend it officially

Then I don't think you will have a problem! You're gonna be able to pour a at least 40 dishes with that thing in one go, and it will only be filled halfway. You probably have more than enough headroom to do 1500ml of agar and 60 dishes!
The only downside to the 1000ml and up media bottles is they don't fit easily in microwaves unless you have a way to keep them tilted to fit the microwave. But, I have a couple smaller media bottles that I can store presterilized agar in so I can have some on reserve and not be caught with my pants down when a primo cloning opportunity pops up. I also try to keep at least a half sleeve or so of poured dishes on tap just in case.

That's pretty awesome and my microwave is tiny so I'll probably end up getting a 1000ml if I end up making way more agar then I can pour. I got 500 tri plates to pour though, I should be able to get rid of the stuff

Holy crap! Looks like there wasn't a lot of room between the PC lid and bottle cap.

Just poured a sleeve minus two petris with 500 ml. Wasn't bad, just had to get the angle right and it was easy.
I'll be building a new SAB soon though. Thanks for the advice guys, can't believe I was pouring any other way before. This thing is great

I use several microwaves and I can take the turntable out on all of them and it can give you a lot more room to work with. Some have voids at the top and if it was on the turntable it would hit other areas as it turns, so you can get significantly more room in some.
And as its not moving it is easier to get things to prop it up against if you do have to tilt it.
Also in many microwaves the opening is quite a bit smaller than the actual inner section. So you often just have to tilt the container to get it inside, and back out again, but it can sometimes stand upright when inside just fine.

Sorta thinking about trying one of theses glass jugs. 64oz and has a nice grip area. It will probably drip after every pour though.

juice bottles with diamond grip pattern FTW. it is free with every purchase of quality juice!! i don't like bigger jars cause i like to use different media for every sleeve, but these bottes are large enough to swirl 500-700ml's if pouring a weird recipe with more solids than usual (DFA/charcoal/etc)
