I can't sleep because I drank a ton of booze yesterday and when it wore off I woke up with the sweats and panic attacks and shit...
I also used up all my kratom so that kinda blows too.
I really need to stop drinking. It's slowly killing me and my relationships. I have some gabapentin I could take to help with the w/d's but then I probably will fall back asleep and sleep most of the day. Which isn't a huge deal since I don't have anything to do, but I want to try to get to the gym and get an exercise routine going. If I sleep all day and wake up once my son is off school I'll probably be reluctant to go.
Alcohol is a shitty drug.

I quit drinking because, its terrible for you, it tastes and smells like shit, it makes you throw up, it gives you hangovers, it causes so many crimes from rape to DUI and because benzos are better in like every single way.
Why drink a solvent when you could take a pill that does the same thing but is safer.
Good luck with quitting drinking. It was easy for me because I switched to Ativan.

Benzodiazepines are terrible drugs. They simply activate the same region that is activated by one of the most addicting substances ever, but removes all the factors that make it less addicting (taste, volume, time to consume). That is NOT positive.

Yeah but benzos are non toxic unlike alcohol.
Plus benzos are way more euphoric and don't have that "sloppy" feeling that alcohol has.

I enjoy the taste of beer and many well aged rye whiskeys.
What I don't like is my tendency to consume too much, and how I then act once I've consumed too much.
I'd have to agree with Moose that benzos are just as bad or worse than alcohol. They are addictive, they cause serious withdrawal and rebound anxiety, and just generally are not a good medication unless you get severe panic attacks and need them to function.
I'd say atleast 75% or more of the time benzos are prescribed for the wrong reasons.
I've been prescribed ativan in the past for panic attacks, but I only used it when I needed to and after a while I stopped needing them any more.

Benzodiazepines are toxic and highly addictive. Alcohol and Benzodiazepines are the only drugs whose withdrawals can cause you to die. And I'm confident you'll feel sloppy when you black out for 10 plus hours.

How are benzos toxic? Show me a source that says so.

ODing on benzos alone is very hard. I took 10 xanax bars once as a suicide attempt and I'm still here.

That doesn't mean it's impossible. And especially considering most recreational users IME mix them.

Yeah but if you use common sense you wont die from any benzos or opiates.

Idk man shit happens no matter what. All drugs can be dangerous and while use responsibly is a nice idea... most drug users aren't the sharpest crayons in the tool shed

Plus sometimes people make bad impulsive decisions when under the influence, like taking that last extra big shot of heroin...or swallowing that xanax pill with an oxy, or having a beer after doing some H
It's a damn miracle I'm not dead. I'm so happy to be 3+ months clean of heroin again. Barely use benzos anymore and don't have a problem with them.
My only problem now is alcohol, and I'm trying my hardest to rid myself of those demons.
