Mushroom Chocolates

I decided I want to try some chocolates instead of just eating them, and from all the posts I searched through, I didn't find much really. I know its simply melting the chocolate and adding decently chopped mushrooms to it, but I'm curious on what type of chocolate to use for it. I've read to use higher quality bars of darker chocolate, so I picked up some Lindt 70% and 85% dark bars, plan to mix em. Think it will help out at all, or is it just the same as using some shitty milk chocolate Hersey bars?

I've also already looked through Oatman's recipe, not really interested in his choice. It requires too much material, and the chocolate he uses isn't for me.

I use one normal sized bag of chocolate chips that I dump into a cup of cream that has been brought to a boil and turned off. Let the chocolate sit in the hot cream for a few minutes then mix it up. Then I measure out my dose quantity, usually 1.5 grams. I put my ground mushroom dose into a small container with an amount of chocolate that will fit inside an ice cube tray. Then I fill each milf of the year with one chocolate mushroom mixture until I've either filled the tray out run out of mushrooms. Then I freeze it. The next day I use a small knife to cut around the outside of the chocolate bar to unstick it from the tray and pull it out. The cream turns the chocolate into ganache which makes the chocolates softer and more readily eaten bc if you just melt chocolate and reharden it as solid chocolate it'd kind of hard to bite into solid chocolate.

Interesting way of doing it. I haven't heard of anyone adding cream to it before. I think I'm looking to stick with the solid chocolate method though. I only plan to put a gram in each, so I won't be using too much chocolate, shouldn't be an issue consuming it.

This is how I've done it recently and it works excellently.

I take a 100g bar of milk chocolate, and put it in the microwave for 2 mins, bring it out, mix it up (it will be partially melted), then put it back in for another .5-1 minute, just so that it's all melted, but not hot. Dip your finger in to see.

Mix in your dried mushroom powder -- I found a 100g bar can hold up to 24g without getting too thick to mix by hand. It becomes like a chocolate dough almost. Mix it up, and put it in a mold if you have one, to make for easy dosing. Then put it in the freezer for at least 10 mins to harden it up.

The problem with just mixing a big batch like this is that you can't be sure every dose is the same. It's much better to mix each one separately so that you can be sure of even dosage with every chocolate.

I made mine. Melted the 85% dark and 70% dark bars together, and poured into an ice cube tray about 3/4 full each. Put in around 1.12g finely ground but not too powdery mushrooms in each with one being at around .95g. I'm a light weight personally, so it should be a nice pleasant experience when I dose it. I don't look for mind melting insanity in my drug use, just a nice euphoric and relaxing high. Be it weed or mushrooms.

I had made my own chocolates a few years back I remember using Plymouth Pantry. It is chocolate with no added sweetners its 100% cocoa. I used a coffee grinder to finly grind the shrooms before adding to the chocolate. Was using 1.75 grams per 1 oz of chocolate. Couldn't taste the mushrooms at all. They were quite good, first time I ever experienced a "heroic" dose of mushrooms was from eating 3 of those chocolates. I was blasted into hyperspace for a few hours
And slowly drifted back down to earth.

I use dark giridelihoweverthefuckitsspelled and hazelnuts which I blend.

I might also add butter, coconut flakes, lemon zest or a few tablespoons of powdered citric acid.

If you'll be making an decent number get a few molds.

  My lack of a pressure cooker has me stay away from trying mono tubs, so I only have a few cakes going at a time. Took me awhile to even collect the 7.7g I used for this batch, so that 100g he recommends is crazy to me. Hopefully one day I'll be trying something like that.

  By the way, it seems like most people only use around a gram in their chocolates. Why is that? I know that many people normally trip on an eighth+, so does making them into chocolates increase strength or something? Or is it simply that you can only use so much mushroom per chocolate before it just becomes an unreasonable amount of chocolate to consume.

  Personally I don't want to try a dose in the 3.5 and up range, I'm definitely very hesitant and nervous with that. I feel like I'm more sensitive to substances than most, or maybe I'm just a bitch and cant handle my shit, who knows. All I know is that I like keeping it at 2g max. Normally 1.5 or so. Of course I haven't actually tried dosing an eighth, so I can't really comment if I like it or not, but I don't feel I would. Maybe I'll grow a pair one day.

sucks dude = get a pc. one medium sized mushroom dried to 3.5g - nothing to be scared of.

just scale it down to whatever. He said 1 gram cause that's what would be a mild trip with his batch - it's just a suggestion. regular cubes I would try 3-3.5g it will reduce to a small portion.

1grams per chocolate makes for easy dosing especially for first timers. nervous? just take one you will be ok - kinda thing. or easier to put into terms 1,2,3 because people who don't post on magic fungi forums often don't speak the lingo of dosage .. easier to say: take two.

I measure out the dose and put in on a scrap of paper to later dump into the mold with chocolate/ingredient mix and stir up cause I dont have 100gs either lol

eat a fuckin eighth you've grown your own now time for a dose or two of your own medicine  :pirate:

One medium sized mushroom for you dries to 3.5g? I guess I just always get really shitty MS syringes then. Largest shroom a cake has every produced for me was 2.6 dry, and that was a one of a kind event. Never seen anywhere close to that since. Usually a flush from a cake for me is like 1.5g dry if I'm lucky.
