Is Red Reishi Worth Harvesting?

So I'm not much of a mushroom guy when it comes to edible/medicinal mushrooms but I've been seeing alot of red reishi growing on loblolly pines in my area lately. I've read they're really beneficial medically, but my question is...
If I'm not into eating mushrooms (cept actives) would it be worth the effort to harvest them and make a tea or tincture?
Also anymore info you guys wanna drop on me go ahead. I didn't take pics but I will in a sec and upload them, they're pretty mushies.
Here's a pic of one of em, growing off a limb AND out of the ground, simultaneously, very cool. http://imgur.com/SUeaPB4

If you are finding them on pine I would be very interested in getting a sample to study.

Hi MrCloudy, if you kindly check the link provided you will see it is indeed growing on that small pine branch, and out of the ground. Maybe perhaps it grew from the ground and then graphed slightly to the limb as it lay there next to the mushroom? Sorry for the poor photo, its only 50-60ft away from my home ill gladly go take more pictures of it and the others surrounding it.
The other few in the area where growing directly out of the ground, which mostly consists of decayed loblolly pine needles as it is used frequently as ground cover, both naturally and intentionally.
Also, I've never sent any specimens so could you link me or explain how to do so I can send them efficiently please?

I am certainly interested in more photos.
Ganoderma meredithae grows on pine. And I am interested in getting more samples of meredithae to study.

Ok cool. Once I get off work ill go take a few more snapshots. I do believe Ganoderma meredithae fits perfectly.
I suppose ill harvest a few, some for samples, and some for a tea as I figure why not? Any info you want to add on harvesting, preparing, ingesting this mushroom?
I'll get back to this in a few hours.
