What's up with that? Why the HUGE fear?
The Moral Majority doesn't seem to mind that kids see thousands of TV murders every month, but show a nipple or a butt cheek and J-E-S-U-S, they start frothing and having coniptions.
War? No problem. Death penalty? That's cool. Sexual intimacy? *gasp* "I cast thee out satin!" (Well, sex between priests and young boys is marginably acceptable...)

I know..I've always tried to question WHY it's soooo forbidden to see a women's nipple on tv, or on the beach or whatever, in THIS country at least. Well, I mean, I know that NOW, the majority of the reason is because too many of our generations in the past have been taught that it's socially unacceptable...so it's not so easy as 1 2 3 to go back and say, "Cmon loosen the fuck up already, we KNOW what a nipple looks like, big freakin deal".
It's just plain silly.

there is quite a bit of sex on Canadian TV, so it seems that there is something unique about the American christian moral majority, mainly - that they are completely headfucked.

Personally, I like pictures of naked men. You all can post your pics here. Oh, wait. Is that a topic for OTD???

I've been accused of being a Christian on occasion, and I have no problem with nudity. it's not just Christians though, what about Muslims, or orthodox Jews? even some Buddhists are required to be celibate. I think some people and some cultures just have some major hang-ups when it comes to sex.

The Catholic upbringing in me is going to show. This is how I was raised, and I'm really sorry, in advance. No nudity. Skirt no more than 1 inch above the knee. No sex until after marriage. Of course, I can be as naked as I want when I'm married, and I wear my skirts shorter, now. I'm not going to talk about my sex life, though. Does anyone want to tell me where nudity is a problem though? I have seen nudity at the movies, or on T.V. I guess a lot of people have a problem with it, right? I had this argument with someone, once. Believe it or not, I took the position that nudity in a movie, and even sex in a movie, was okay, outside of marriage, because it was just a movie. She said that even though it was a movie, it was still represented as sex and nudity and therefore a sin. Meaning, as if it was real life. Edit: Forgot to say that she is a staunch Christian.

There is nothing wrong with nudity. It is sin that made us embarassed of our bodies, and the desire to wear clothes to cover them up. Some of you may say that you are not ashamed of your bodies, and that is great. I try to view things in the sense of wrong/right as if there wasn't any sin introudced to the world.

> It is sin that made us embarassed of our bodies
That is one theory... but what about those of us that don't believe in sin? There are many cultures in the world that never saw a person wearing clothes until westerns visited them in the jungle.
