Need help with I.D. on these

Habitat:Found in woods, in what I would call a ditch, heavy leaf litter.
Gills: Dark Purple... Seriously purple too. Slightly widespaced.
Stem: Length is two to four inches, solid and very slightly spongy, appears bruised, but so does the body of the whole thing, caps included
Cap:About 2 to 2 1/2 inches across, one is three inches, dark and light purple mixed, circular.
Spore print color: Before printing I'm going to hazard a guess and say dark purple brown or blue.

They look entirely different... Not saying you're wrong, I just don't see the family resemblance. Lol

Fair enough. You didn't get to be a trusted identifier by being wrong. I'll take your word for it.

I'm in North GA also and I found one of these yesterday too, so they are super fresh in my memory:

Haha ok yes those are exactly the same. I was looking at the wrong pictures (the ones in your tag line) Living in north Georgia yourself, where would you suggest as a very likely place to find a few of the special species Georgia has to offer??

steeply sloped areas with red clay as the primary soil, with briars and moss slowly reclaiming the area.

That's actually very helpful, there's plenty of that terrain around where I'm at. I've found so many interesting mushrooms so far, most I left alone for nature, but I did see some that the only word I can think of is adorable. They grew in a really tight flush, 15 or 20 in one spot, and were almost bright green. They're the two most recent that I have posted in my pics.
