E Novo From Seed

I am growing E Novo from seed and will be recording my results here. I waited for the berries to get squishy at which point I just mushed the berries around with my fingers to free the seed. Once i have the seed clean from the berry, I put them in a small conatiner filled with dishsoap and water. I will be letting them sit over night then move them to a container with a little peroxide and finally I will move on to germinating them.

UPDATE 1: Theres quite a few of the seeds that have germinated one seed in particuler grew a good size root though (sorry didn't get a pic). I'll post some pic of the planted seed and a pic of one of the others that has germinated but whose root is to small to plant yet. I apologize for the poor quality, my phone camera is just not cutting it today. To plant the germinated seed I just buried the root and left the seed above ground with moss around it.

A little bit more than I would do, but to each his own. I can't see your pic tho...

The picture should show now.....I now have the seeds sitting in a small baggie with moss where im waiting for them to germinate and i have some more seeds that are still in the berry just sitting in my closet. I am waiting for those to turn mushy before i mess with them so that the seed can fully develop

Keep the updates coming. And yes, the pic is working now.

The red outer layer will fall off on its own. Just plant the seeds and keep the soil wet.

That's what I was getting at when I said 'that's more than I would do', I've always heard of people just planting the whole berry... Can't say pulling off the fleshy part would help or hinder the process... It'll definitely work without going through all the trouble though.

Getting rid of berry and fruiting material from around the seed, would be something I would do. I have lost some plants do to this. Planting seed that isn't real clean and still has some clinging fruit. The organic material can become host to molds and bacteria.. so, getting rid of it can help.
when I harvest my tomatoes and save seed. I put the seed pulp in a bowl of water for a day or 2 for the gel surrounding the seed to break down.. then place the seeds on paper towel to dry. Now, before people hop on me and say (but they are E-novo not tomato).. but the idea is the same. remove what you can to prevent bacterial and mold growth.

I never remove the berry part. Even if you do, there will be a membrane that stays on the petioles until it finally drops off. Don't try to force it off or the berry if its still on. The main thing is to keep them warm and damp but not hot.
