If you use water change it every day

To slow down rot. The water gets dirty very fast and rot will eat up the cuttings. I had a lot of trouble with that even after putting a little peroxide in the water

oh ok that makes sense. Would you recommend having something hold up the cutting off the bottom of the cup or does this matter?Quote:

I told the owner of an ethnosupply place that I had rotted several cuttings. He told me his secret was to aerate the water, using an aquarium bubbler. It's my understanding that a clear tube goes from the air pump to a piece of pumice-like stone.
I like this idea, because it's harmless and could be cheap.
I found this and was wondering if a air pump would help? because I have one just laying around I could use if so.

Try the air pump

Don't worry about trying to keep the ends up off the bottom of the cup or trying to prop em up while they are in the water. I'll have to post a pic, but since I posted in here last, 2 more of my water rooting sticks are popping out roots.
Definitely try the air stone. I use it for rooting salvia clones, not like they need it, but it really oxygenates the water well and seems to help with root development. Seems like it stalls out rot and funk in the water, too. I'm sure it's not necessary, but it won't hurt at all.

Hows everyone's cuttings doing? Mine are still just showing the very beginnings of some roots, considering transplanting them all to soil now

I got caught up with some stuff I had to take care of and still haven't got around to potting up the rooted ones I have in water. On a couple of them, the roots are like 4 or 5 inches long and are sprouting leaves.... I really need to get those things in some soil asap
