Yesterday I found Chicken of the Woods. Today (9/27/15) I thought I'd check out Marshy Point Nature Center where I found a 12 lb Hen of the Woods a few years back.
No such luck this year but I found this guy. Found at Marshy Point Nature Center. Looks kinda like an oyster but I dunno if it is. https://goo.gl/maps/yFDBiA4oxbA2
Growing on/near oaks. Weighs about 3 lbs (including the stem piece). Doesn't seem to change color when bruised (white). No spores yet.

Not an oyster. Those are pores not gills. Oysters will be growing directly from wood. Not (usually) from the ground/roots of a tree. Looks like Bondarzewia berkeleyi to me. http://www.mushroomexpert.com/bondarzewia_berkeleyi.html
Looks like a tasty chicken though. What are you gonna cook with it?

That does indeed look like it. Edible? I don't see anything on that page one way or the other.

Butter, bacon, and Vidalia onion. Then had some of it on top of zucchini and yellow squash. The rest was frozen.
Looks to be edible. I'm also guessing mine is perfect for just that as it's not tough nor yellow. http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/berkeley-s-polypore http://www.wildmanstevebrill.com/Mushrooms.Folder/Berkeley%27s.html https://sites.google.com/site/berkeleyspolypore/extra-credit

The berkeley's polypore is "edible". I've tried it twice and was very unimpressed both times. But, different strokes for different folks and all. Maybe I just didn't find the right way to cook it. It definitely won't be bad for you, but I doubt it will be as good as that chicken. If you do eat it, let us know how you like it.

Will do. Everything I read on it says it soaks up the flavors of whatever it is in. Then they had a pic of some covered in bay leaves and other Med herbs.
