San Pedro Cactus (pup) Dosage

Greetings, psychonauts, neurons, average humans and others.
I've recently found interest in shamanism; everything from alleviating unrest to tripping on psychedelics.
I was intrigued by mescaline and mescaline containing cacti and wondered, if San Pedro pups do contain mescaline and are let's say 3 inches | 8 centimetres, how many of those could be required (through your experience or knowledge) to achieve:
Level 1 trip Level 2 trip Level 3 trip
Thank you for all your responses in advance.

A foot of average potency cactus will bring you to level 3, but it really depends on individual metabolism and tolerance. But most people take a foot to start with.

I'm not sure about the potency of pups, but I've always felt that older growth has a higher concentration of mescaline. And older, well rooted, specimens in general will have more mescaline....I could be wrong though .
Just to throw out an answer to your question, I'd say you're going to need at least 5 or 6 of those 3 inch pups to feel much of anything at all...Most pups aren't very thick, and I suspect they won't contain as much actives as older growth will, so it'll probably take even more than that .
Potency is quite variable, it seems, with the PC of San Pedro....So it's hard tellin' how much it's going to take, but like mentioned above 12 inches is a standard rule of thumb for dosing cacti (I have relatively potent san pedro and 4 inches is enough for threshold effects, 12 inches will produce a trip but it is certainly not a full on "level 3 trip", I'd compare 12 inches of my cactus to one solid hit of LSD/around 125mcg, or 2.5g of mushrooms).
But why!?....Why are you wanting to eat the pups specifically? When my caci pup a new column I don't think about eating it right away, I look forward to watching it grow for a year or a few before even considering such a thing.

I agree that more mature plants produce more potent flesh, they also have time to fill out the flesh that they do have with denser, more mescaline rich material rather than just pure water tension, so they have higher dry weight per inch as well, which increases potency.
Fresh small pups from a PC pedro have virtually no mescaline, they are mostly water dude, IMO you're wasting your time. Grow them out, let them all get to 2-3 feet tall and you'll have enough for several trips.
Inches don't mean shit, I hate that people measure doses that way, is it 1 inch thick, 2, 3, 4, 5 inches thick? All of those girths are going to have differing potencies because of the age of the plant, the denseness of the material and the amount of stress its seen.
I would shoot for 80-100g dry of PC pedro, if you choose to dry those pups out, you will see how short you fall of your goal. Spend the cash on a decent bridgesii cutting while you wait for those pedros to grow out, better yet root that cutting and grow it out too, trip in a few years when you have a nice collection and a connection to the plants.
Mescaline is not for the impatient, you need big, mature plants and a fairly large quantity of tissue, and once you've got the nice cactus big enough to trip on, you find yourself torn between having your cake and eating it.
