On the topic of eating flesh

Eating meat has been a staple of Earthly hominid diets since the paleolithic days. As we grow smarter and more sensitive, we notice the social and conscience-eating implications associated with meat consumption...as well as the environmental problems.
Personally I wouldn't have a problem eating meat if it were raised cleanly and sustainably. I go off and on between strict vegetarian diets and diets rich in animal protein however the most enjoyable for me is eating meat occasionally...
I have been masturbating my taste buds for a while now, and I've found just a few foods that are as delicious as certain meats. Like Chinese pork preparations are out of this world.
What's your view on it, would you quit eating meat if the planet had an opportunity to stop altogether? I know I would. I'd miss it though.
We have canine teeth for a reason, I guess.

Sustainable gardening is a world of it's own. you can do it easily. the problem is the most sustainable efficient water for agriculture is recycled water

Grass fed ruminant meats; bison, cow, sheep etc. are pretty sustainable from what I hear
And @OP; I personally feel that I feel much better on a vegatarian diet than a meat heavy one. I am not a strict vegatarain, but my colon is much cleaner, and my spiritual endevors as well. I like the idea of it. Prolly about once every 2 weeks I eat meat
But ya IMO from pure experience vegatarian is the shit

It certainly isn't eating over 200lbs of meat per capita per year.

There's protein in cereals and grains too, did you know that? Less than in meat, but plenty for humans. That same feeling you get from eating meat, I get from eating a vegetarian meal. And I used to eat A LOT of meat when I was younger, I can assure you.

I'd sooner stop eating vegetables than I would stop eating meat.
The only thing that even comes close to having the same flavor as meat, is mushrooms and the consistency is no where near it. The flavor isn't even close enough you'd be able to mistake it.
Meat til I die. If the meat industries all died tomorrow, I'd be hunting squirrel or something.

Just go for hunted game or grass fed. IMO/so i understand it, it is really just corn fed meat that is unethical and an issue
REaesonable amounts of grass fed meat should be fairly sustainable. At least this is what Joel salatin is spreading. Perhaps even he is wrong?

Organ meats are fucking delicious. They are an aquired taste. But the heavy bloodiness and heme iron filled flesh is too good after the second or third time

If you live in a town in California or Arizona with a good Mexican population you've probably been offered Cabeza which is really, really good. It is cow and goat brain and it tastes delicious, very fatty and rich and flavorful. Try it
