Clitocybe odora?

Growing under Spruce trees up to a few cm across, apart from one big one. Smooth cap when dry, tough stem. Strongly aniseed scented. The pics aren't great.
The habitat is apparently not common for this species. I don't know what else it could be though so it's just a guess.

I would agree that it is clitocybe species.
I would personally venture tasting one without swallowing - I would put a small, solid piece of the raw mushroom on my tongue and count to 15 then spit it out. If it tasted sweet and delicious the conclusion I might draw is that it is indeed c. odora.
BUT that is me and my body. :-)

Fortunately i had some samples that i was using for spore prints so that is actually possible. I didn't try this in the field as i didn't know what they were supposed to taste like anyway. So i did try a bit and it tastes of a combination of nothing (as opposed to a 'mushroomy' kind of taste) and the same as it smells (aniseedy). The spore print by the way is more or less white, as expected.
The only thing that doesn't seem to match is that so many of the pics i have seen show blue/green gills where as the gills of the ones I have seen are white to pinkish white (maybe pictures show a different colouration than what i can see with my own eyes). However one very clear stand out feature is the metallic pale blue claps. And then the fact they are unmistakably aromatic. The caps are dry and smooth.
Edit: it turns out that there are several varieties of this species. Some with whitish gills and some with gills that share the colour of the cap.

I think I read that in the Arora pocket guide, too. I would venture what you've got are probably a delight.

I tried eating one of the small caps a few days ago. They once again taste pretty much as they smell! One of the better mushroom species that I've tried.
