do any of you guys wash your shrooms after picking them? afoaf has always just rubbed off all the casing but sometimes, especially in cakes, pieces of verm will stick to the stem. just wondering what you guys do post harvest before consuming.

just pick that shit off, psilocybin is water soluable so washing isn't the best of ideas, a little verm/coir/poop never hurt nobody

not liking to ingest verm its been a practice to carefully rinse the ends off under the kitchen sink. Darn things taste bad enough without adding crunchies. That and friends kept bitching about it

You'll find when you air dry the shrooms that MOST of the verm/coir falls off. The rest will come off after a day or two in the desiccant container (crumbs at most). They come out rather clean when said and done. Grind to dust, put in capsules, you're set.

A local grocery store sells an item called a "Mushroom Brush", used to clean store-bought mushrooms. I find that it only matters if you are using an acidic casing layer (read: peat based), and then I get horrible heartburn. You can definatly rinse the mushrooms if you want to .
