usually it's bigger fruits but less pins,
so earlier on, there are usually lots of pins and many that don't get that big, but when the later flushes produce a smaller number of fruit bodies they are able to get bigger because they don't have to share as much water between them compared to the first flush where there are lots and lots of pins.
Although there can be a few other factors as well, like how well-hydrated the sub was by the time it reached 100% colonization and was ready to fruit.

the less the pins the bigger the fruits r...i get that.  this is the 3rd flush on this cake and im getting alot of pins and the majority r about 4-5Xs the size of the other 2 flushes.  almost all of them are coming from the sides of the cake too.  im assuming thats normal too
