I am becoming a Mason
    #22297417 - 09/27/15 08:48 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

After long consideration I have decided to become a mason. I am being sponsored by a blind man who is my wife's associate.

I am very interested in occult knowledge, esoteric rituals and secret ceremonies Etc and I have read that the Masons are one of the last remaining "mystery religions".

I want knowledge and initiation into a mystery path.

Does anyone think this is a bad idea? Any advice ? Warnings?

I am also going to resume going to church and taking communion etc and going to Buddhist dharma centre and meditating and going to shamanic ayahuasca ceremonies and doing yoga classes.

I see it all as related.

What do you guys think of or know about masons and masonry? Is it good or evil? Any masons here? Any tips on how I can rise through the degrees of masonry ?

My father was one.  I don't think it is what you think it is.  It is not an organization of occult whackjobs with secret knowledge.  They mostly just do good deeds in their community.  Charitable work and such.  They help each other and also help the poor.

My father is fairly high up in the Masons (he sits in one of those 3 big chairs in the picture above). What Zappa said is exactly my impression of what it is. They are always helping people out. They seem on average to be fairly affluent, or at the very least, have the ear of affluent people and use it to accomplish good.

You may wish to check into the Thelemic Order of the Golden Dawn, brother.

Masonry is so.. "Previous Aeon".

Thelemic rituals are tuned to the new Aeon of Horus. Even though Masonic ritual and belief reflects the same thing, Thelemites are more keen and tuned to the true balance that the.. "old gray world" Masons of their unrefined rituals just can't edge on right.

(Horus is the Crowned and Conquering Child of Esoteric Knowledge. Osiris, the "Dying God", what xTians call "Jesus", is of the old Aeon.)

I would Love To join the golden dawn too if I can find a local group and an in.

People may say masonry is mostly charity but the truth is it is and always has been thick with esoteric,
Occult symbolism and mystical initiation rituals and ancient sigils, ceremonies and arcane teachings.

Charity is part of it too but they do perform strange ceremonies sin elaborate temples shrouded in symbolism and ancient traditions. There are also strong religious tones.

When your sponsor takes you to meet other Masons, impress them by grabbing a random bystander, yell "KALI MA SHAKTI DE", and rip his still beating heart out of his chest.

I used to have a friend that was so irrationally into the conspiracy stuff that every time he say a Freemason symbol, building, whatever, he'd get visibly anxious and want to get away ASAP. He'd literally have a miniature psychotic break every time; demanding me to drive away if he was in my car, lol.

He was black and also did it whenever there was a cop around, though, as far as I know, he never had anything on him.

Two of those things are how many major religious theorists define religion. Are the Freemasons religious at all?

Are they religious like Buddhists or AA people?

If that was directed at me yes I'm sure.

I'm a 3rd degree so haven't had the later degrees.

If your referring to the York Rite or the Scottish Rite then yea religion does play a role.  York Rite is Christian, still not it's own religion and Scottish Rite is religious but also not a religion.  If your referring to Jesters and Shriners they also are not a religion so just like I said in the last post, it's not a religion.

Edit:  That's all I'm going to say about it.  I am not going to argue with someone about what they think Masons do.  Your not a mason so don't tell me what we do during lodge.  I'm not going to argue with you about something you read and think is real.  Everyones response is the same just about, if you don't know you must not be at the top.  My uncle who I am close with is a Jester and I know what goes on at the top, you don't even know what goes on during a lodge meeting.  You only know what you read.

The fist of koraks could take all the Masons, all their lodges, all their businesses and roll it in a ball, crush it in his fist and put a giant diamond at the top of the white house while saving a basket of kittens from "Al-qaeda".

the funny thing about your society is once you reach the highest degree you either pass the test and realize there is many more degrees or you fail and stay a 33rd degree always thinking your on top it never ends the ones who run your society just keep making more hoops for you to jump threw giving you the illusion of progress but you will never reach the most inner circle and your truly a puppet your society is a joke and your the punch line

My father was one.  I don't think it is what you think it is.  It is not an organization of occult whackjobs with secret knowledge.  They mostly just do good deeds in their community.  Charitable work and such.  They help each other and also help the poor.

My father is also a Mason.  Has a bunch of different halls stickers plastered all over his old construction helmets and lunch boxes.

He also likes to show off his Knights Templar robe from time to time.

Pretty sure he is also a member of the Shriners if I recall.

As he described it, in detail, to me -- ceremony for the sake of camaraderie rather than any magical implications.
Still very powerful rituals though, because it breeds a sense of friendship and working together with other members, which really facilitates social connections someone like him may not otherwise ever have an opportunity to make.

Greatest value he finds in the organization is that he can walk into any Mason's lodge anywhere in the country, and they will help him find work if he needs a new job.

He's in welding/industrial construction/boiler making...he has a few different tickets.
He could help me build or repair a house, but he knows little to nothing of the occult.

His view was that if I wanted to get into the trades, that I should sign up.
In terms of interest in occult knowledge, likely more productive to look elsewhere.

Warning don't be surprised when there isn't anything to read into. The masons are a pretty wholesome group. They have SOME effect in their local areas but definitely not an occult matter affecting the masses. There may be rituals and to be initiated they often have odd rituals. You might enjoy that  just don't expect a conspiracy o more power because that's a load of bull. My family has a rich history of freemasonry,my great great grandpa was a  33rd degree grandmaster in a northern California chapter. He basically just laughed off all the conspiracies. He wasn't a rich or powerful man, he himself said their ARE many secrets of freemasonry but nothing to the magnitude people think. He said most their secrets were not unlike many other secret societies, For example ritual, handshakes, code etc. So expect something like that

Masonry is closely tied to religion requiring a professed belief In a god or deity and the symbol of masonry with a g and square standing for God and geometry , the idea being that masons emulate the sacred geometry underlying creation. masonry may not itself be a religion but it's deeply enmeshed with religion.

I used to work with a mason who was at the 31st or 33rd (I don't remember). He was also a shriner.
It sounds like the rituals are cool and fun and all, but if you're wanting to accomplish some deep and serious occult work then you're better off looking else where.

Try making a pilgrimage to wirikuta with the huichol, or sun dancing with some lakota.

Would be very interested to learn more about the sun dance. I did sweat lodge once with first nations people near where I live and they did sun dance there , is that where you put hooks in your skin?

Here they put hooks in their skin and drag bison skulls from the hooks, even old ladies.

Yes. It's a small part of the ceremony, but westerners (me being one) are usually entranced by the notion of ceremonially piercing flesh.

Some circles, like the one I attend, don't allow women to pierce.
The ceremony was traditionally a men's ceremony. Woman were allowed to dance, but only men made offerings of flesh because women made their own sacrifice through child birth.
Now there are hundreds of sun dance circles and each one conducts it's ceremony differently, though the core elements remain the same.

Pulling buffalo skulls is an option, but most typically dance pierced from the tree.

Way too hard core for me I am afraid, I will stick to yoga, meditation, lucid dreaming and ayahuasca/dmt, but I will pass on the flesh piercing.

Wow.

Cool, but too hardcore for me.

The piercing really isn't so bad. After fasting for days you don't feel much pain.

You should seek out your connections in the first nations. Sweat more. Sit with them in medicine ceremony.
Learn to pray with the water and the fire. The earth and the sky. The moon and the sun.

Do you feel like your apprehension to flesh offering goes hand in hand with your aversion to body modification that you mentioned recently in another thread?

Quite possibly!

Any elaboration you can give on the sun dance would be very interesting to me, I would love if you made a thread about it, just explain a bit about it, why you do it, what its like.

If you want to. I am just very curious about it.

I'd be willing to chat privately about it. It's not something I'm comfortable sharing publicly more than I already have.

Dude, the movie From Hell with Johnny Depp about Jack the Ripper not only has Freemason symbology all throughout it, the killer is a mason and the square and compass are on the front of his surgical box he keeps all his killing tools in.  Masons have huge pull in Hollywood, so that wouldnt be there unless they allowed it and wanted it to.

That doesn't make you say "what the fuck?"

A charity organization?  Yeah OK.... Remember, while the right hand is doing something, the left hand is doing something else.

There are many good people who are masons who do good charity work, live a normal life, pay their dues, and don't ask questions or climb the ladder, but I guarantee you there is stuff going on in masonry at the highest levels that would make most masons instantly leave the organization if they were made aware.

Didn't anyone tell you when you were a kid that it's not polite to keep secrets?

Your already part of a club with 8 billion people in it, focus on helping that club!!!!

What's your source for this apart from a historically inaccurate Hollywood movie? Also, "the top" of the organization (there is no clear top to the masons globally!) is irrelevant to the vast majority of the masons, as they'll never interact with it.

If you don't think a group of masons made that multimillion dollar movie with huge actors, your either in denial or you haven't seen it.  Half the movie takes place in a lodge while they're all dressed up.  A non-mason with no connection to masonry is not going to be allowed to make a movie like that.

The movie is based on a graphic novel by Alan Moore which has all the masonic stuff in it. You're ridiculous.

So what, why would masons support and allow a movie to be made supporting the idea that jack the ripper was a mason and these murders were to hide secrets within the royal family?  Why would they even want to be associated with that?

And.....If they're such a moral organization, why would a writer even think of such a thing?  Masons run Hollywood, and they clearly wanted this graphic novel turned into a big movie.

Shit like this is why this organization is so shady.

Of course your going to keep ignoring the fact that a "charity" organization is linked to jack the ripper and countless other killings and coverups, and instead start attacking me.

Keep spinning it to make them sound good buddy.

And? Does doing this somehow mean they are some all powerful organization controlling a bunch of shit? Why would they even want to control Hollywood? What about all the movies that have nothing to do with masons? Where the fuck are you getting this nonsense?

I can't follow his theory.  I think he's saying that Alan Moore & Hollywood collaborated with the Masons to make the movie From Hell, in which the Masons confess their role in the murder of several prostitutes over 120 years ago?

Not sure why the prospect of people involved in devil worship scares anyone but diehard Christians.

Oh no, that organization worships an imaginary being opposed to my imaginary being!!

Outside of such views, it should not be intimidating.  The most "terrifying" thing about Lucifer is that he refused to worship Man and would only bow to God, so God cast him out for disobeying orders.

Baphomet is a similar scenario, but any such figure would be considered idolatry and against the church.  Many figures from pagan beliefs and other religious traditions, along with their followers, were construed as evil by the church.

If the heaviest thing to level against the Masons is that they are a charitable organization that the church doesn't like, then that is likely more something in their favour than a dark spot.

My presupposition is more that the Freemasons did once hold "secret" knowledge -- they were the largest and most influential construction guild of their time; they likely guarded trade secrets in order to monopolize the market.
Such secrets also would have allowed them to charge the church a pretty penny to fund the building of the most elaborate structures of their day -- if any group other than the church knows where the church might be housing saints or riches, it would be the ones who built the churches.
But that is just for the fun of speculation, cannot personally even take myself seriously on the topic of secret wars between age old organizations.

The only reason I haven't become a mason before is because at least half people seem to think they are evil and I certainly dont want to be involved in an evil society.

Its so hard to know without joining what its all about. I have a friend who is in the process of becoming one as well.

On the local level, all that Masons do on average is form business ties and manage money while helping services on the local level. Also volunteer efforts like food shelves and soup kitchens and clothing.

The real Masons are much more than that and unless you're rich AF and you're Mr. Moonshoe IV good luck on anything else.

Take care Moonshoe; Albert Pike said Masonry "uses false
explanations and misinterpretations of its symbols to mislead."
Morals and Dogma, pg 104

" Freemasonry is a fraternity within a fraternity -- an outer organization concealing an inner brotherhood of the elect (...) it is necessary to establish the existence of these two separate and yet interdependent orders, the one visible and the other invisible. The visible society is a splendid camaraderie of 'free and accepted' men enjoined to devote themselves to ethical, educational, fraternal, patriotic, and humanitarian concerns. The invisible society is a secret and most August [defined as 'of majestic dignity, grandeur'] fraternity whose members are dedicated to the service of a mysterious arcannum arcandrum [defined as 'a secret, a mystery']." [Hall, Lectures on Ancient Philosophy, p. 433]

Are you ready to get religous?

Quote:

"Masonry," writes Pike, however, in the Legenda for the Nineteenth Degree, "has and always had a religious creed. It teaches what it deems to be the truth in respect to the nature and attributes of God."

http://www.phoenixmasonry.org/roscrucian_and_masonic_origins.htm

"Every Masonic Lodge is a temple of religion and its teachings are instruction in religion.. Here we meet as brethren, to learn to know and love each other. This is the true religion revealed to the ancient patriarchs; which Masonry has taught for many centuries, and which it will continue to teach as long as time endures." (Morals and Dogmas, pg. 213, 214.)

"SEETHING ENERGIES OF LUCIFER WITHIN YOUR HANDS"!

Quote:

"The day has come when Fellow Craftsman must know and apply their knowledge.  The lost key to their grade is the mastery of emotion , which places the energy of the universe at their disposal.  Man can only expect to be entrusted with great power by proving his ability to use it constructively and selflessly.  When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his Craft.  The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands, and before he may step onward and upward, he must prove his ability to properly apply energy.  He must follow in the footsteps of his forefather, Tubal-Cain, who with the mighty strength of the war god hammered his sword into a plowshare." [Manly P. Hall, 33rd Degree, K.T., The Lost Keys of Freemasonry or The Secret of Hiram Abiff , Forward by Reynold E. Blight, 33rd Degree, K.T., Illustrations by J. Augustus Knapp, 32nd Degree, Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Company, Inc., Richmond, Virginia, p. 48; Emphasis Added]

This statement is the most bold and concise anyone can create in the English language!  It boldly states that, once the Mason learns to control his emotion, and to properly apply the "dynamo of living power", he can be assured of being able to control the "seething energies of Lucifer" in his hands.  Further, he admits that Masonry is the Craft, the old name for Witchcraft! Further, all Satanists are assured that, if they will join the coven and learn the Craft, he will control the supernatural power of Satan, just as Manly P. Hall is promising here.

This is most powerful proof that Freemasonry is Satanism, because its language is direct and clear, not cluttered with deliberately confusing arcane language that only an insider can understand.  Further, note that Hall and Reynold E. Blight are 33rd Degree Masons, while the Illustrator is 32nd Degree.  Macoy Publishing Company is also one of the most respected of all Masonic Publishing Houses.

The Mysteries of Magic contains the following on page 428:

Quote:

What is more absurd and more impious than to attribute the name of Lucifer to the devil, that is, to personified evil,  The intellectual Lucifer is the spirit of intelligence and love; it is the Paraclete, it is the Holy Spirit, while the physical Lucifer is the great agent of universal magnetism.

http://www.ephesians5-11.org/gllink.htm

Here's a great little compilation of revealing excerpts from Masonic sources:

http://amazingdiscoveries.org/S-deception-Freemason_Lucifer_Albert_Pike

Quote:

(...)the true and pure philosophical religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay; but Lucifer, God of Light and God of Good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the God of Darkness and Evil.

Albert Pike

I had a feeling this thread would not be opened minded and realized that there is a sort of secret society (or more than one) that operates in public.  Those privy to the information won't ever spill the beans.  Bohemian grove, Bilderberg, etc.  Freemasonry is connected with the Knights Templar, Roscrucians, Scottish and Yorkish Rite and many others. Many members are generational members.  No one would have a problem, if everything was public knowledge.

You see anytime those in charge of us, gather and it's not publicized; I tend not to trust them too much.  My country and many others have a history of lying to me and my fellow citizens.

What is wrong with the Knights Templar and Rosicrucianism? I find the symbology of Baphomet to be fascinating and a highly insightful expression in regards to the nature of ultimate reality.

The notion that the Baphomet is as simple as satanic worship is laughable.

These secrecy oaths sure make it seem like a pretty cool and fun religion.

Trips to the beach, bird watching, campfires and body modification.  Have fun at camp Lucifer, Moonshoe!

Quote:

In every ritual degree of Freemasonry and in all the most important ceremonial rituals and initiations of elite orders, the candidate is required to take an oath and is warned of the hideous and grotesque penalty that awaits him if he dares ever to reveal any of the group's innermost secrets.

For example, in the very first degree oath of Freemasonry, the candidate declares:

...binding myself under no less penalty than that of having my throat cut across, my tongue torn out by its roots, and my body buried in the rough sands of the sea, at low-water mark, where the tide ebbs and flows twice in twenty-four hours, should I ever knowingly violate this my Entered Apprentice obligation.

Second degree Masons recite the following heinous oath:

...binding myself under no less penalty than that of having my breast torn open, my heart plucked out, and placed on the highest pinnacle of the temple there to be devoured by the vultures of the air, should I ever knowingly violate the Fellow Craft obligation.

The third degree oath proclaims:

...binding myself under no less penalty than that of having my body severed in two, my bowels taken from thence and burned to ashes, the ashes scattered before the four winds of heaven, that no more remembrance might be had of so vile and wicked a wretch as I would be, should I ever, knowingly, violate this my Master Mason's obligation.

That's not all.

In the 4th degree, Mark Master of the York Rite, the candidate performs a ritual which symbolizes having his "ear smitten off" if he reveals the order's secrets.

And for the 5th degree, Past Master, the hapless candidate agrees as follows:

...binding myself under no less penalty than (in addition to all my former penalties) to have my tongue split from tip to root, that I might thereafter be unable to pronounce the word.

The sixth degree (Most Excellent Master) of the York Rite continues with the horrific penalties:

...binding myself under no less penalty than to have my breast torn open, and my heart and vitals taken from thence, and exposed to rot on the dunghill.

It's inherent that all concepts and ideas are man made.
I'm not religious, rather spiritual; but I think contesting religion because it's man made would be to criticize the wrong aspect of religion.

Religion > Theology

Quote:

(At this point, it may be proper for me to state that we make a
distinction between Religion and Theology--between Philosophy and
Metaphysics. Religion, to us, means that intuitional realization of the
existence of THE ALL, and one's relationship to it; while Theology means
the attempts of men to ascribe personality, qualities, and
characteristics to it; their theories regarding its affairs, will,
desires, plans, and designs, and their assumption of the office of ''
middle-men'' between THE ALL and the people. Philosophy, to us, means
the inquiry after knowledge of things knowable and thinkable; while
Metaphysics means the attempt to carry the inquiry over and beyond the
boundaries and into regions unknowable and unthinkable, and with the
same tendency as that of Theology. And consequently, both Religion and
Philosophy mean to us things having roots in Reality, while Theology and
Metaphysics seem like broken reeds, rooted in the quicksands of
ignorance, and affording naught but the most insecure support for the
mind or soul of Man. we do not insist upon our students accepting these
definitions--we mention them merely to show our position.
At any rate, you shall hear very little about Theology and Metaphysics
in these lessons.) -Kybalion

“That which we must say to the crowd is – We worship a God, but it is the God that one adores without superstition.  To you, Sovereign Grand Inspectors General, we say this, That you may repeat it to the Brethren of the 32nd, 31st, and 30th degrees – THE MASONIC RELIGION should be by all of us initiates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of THE LUCIFERIAN DOCTRINE. . . Yes, LUCIFER IS GOD.”

THE FREEMASONRY, Jan 19, 1935, quoting instructions by Albert Pike, who simultaneously was Grand Master of the Central Directory of Washington, Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of Charleston, and Sovereign Pontiff of Universal Freemasonry.

A particularly interesting link...

Moonshoe, you got a Torah?  The Talmud is probably more their style...

Why are half the people in this thread confusing Freemasonry with the Illuminati?
The only thing they have in common is that they are secret societies. Freemasons being not so secret.

So you are cool with secret societies as long as they have no secrets?

Listen to these Moonshoe....

Here is Bill Cooper talking about Freemasonry (skip forward to 4:10 the beginning is music).  He had a call in radio show and he would talk extensively about masonry and conspiracies....

6 months before 911 happened he told people (and its still on youtube) "whatever is going to happen soon that they blame on Osama bin Laden, don't you believe it for a second".

He was gunned down by undercover officers who tricked him into coming outside of his house at night, 1 month after 911 happened.

He had interviewed ex masons numerous times.

This video below is him interviewing a 32nd degree ex-mason.

Forreal, right?

Moonshoe, Do it, man. Don't listen to these guys. While there's some Esotericisim to the Masons, your experience will probably be limited to charity work/helping the community type of stuff. Which I think everybody could use a little more of!

I do like crazy conspiracy sites though I thought this was rich:

"The church was founded by L. Ron Hubbard, who was a protégé of Aleister Crowley and a member of the O.T.O., the most powerful secret society in Hollywood. The O.T.O. is behind most of the black magick and mind control aspects of Hollywood."

The OTO is a bunch of fat middle aged losers. Like Masons but without the money. They have no power whatsoever but all the conspiracy nuts think they are the official priesthood of the White House. As far as I can tell it started with crazy bitch "mind control sex slave" Kathy OBrien who made up an entire nonsense story. She's such a loser that no one even bothered to sue her.
The OTO is COSplay for fat white people, anyone who thinks they run Hollywood or the world is an idiot. I am pretty sure their top guy lives with his mom.

No one try to convince him to join.  He must do it on his own free will.  Talking somebody into joining is strictly prohibited.

The part about helping the community is 90% of what we do.  We donate turkey dinners to the less fortunate.  We buy real awesome toys for kids at christmas.  A couple years ago we got like 5000$ together and bought a bunch of really cool bikes.  Like 40 of them.  We put them all out in our lodge parking lot and picked 40 kids that were good kids whose family didn't have money for a bike and let them all come in and pick out their new bike.  This is what Masons are about.  Anyone telling you fucking conspiracy shit and 9/11 shit and all that have absolutely no mother fucking clue about what we do.

We are secretive, but have no real secrets.  I have said this before, if I told you some of our secrets you wouldn't care.

If you want to join, join.  If you don't want to, don't.  Masons are around to make good men better.  If you choose to join for any other reason than making yourself better then you'd be joining for the wrong reasons.  I enjoy helping people so I get alot of joy out of it.

This is the problem with conspiracy theories. When everyone involved are lying and everyone else is blind, nothing anyone says will make a difference. You have issues bro.

When I said violent blood oaths, I'm talking about promising to stay silent many times with the punishment of having your bowels ripped out, throat slit and innards cast among the land and all that other nonsense you have to promise over and over.

But just as expected you twisted it around to make it sound like I said they were physically violent, and that the blood oath involves drawing blood.

Another example of exactly what I just mentioned.

Habitual lying and twisting of facts.

Peace out.

you'll never be invited. ever. ever. ever.

Your membership cannot ever be solicited.

You have to join of your own free will.

You are not a Crowley fan? I enjoyed reading some of his stuff.

The golden dawn requires a 120 dollar annual membership fee but I think I will join when I have extra money enough.

I am determined to attain membership in a hermetic , mystical organization , preferably more then one, and proceed through a formal initiation process.

Crowley is a sicko and a child molester. Also, I've never understood why he has such a following in the Occult community, I can't think of a single thing he contributed.

Haven't found the line I'm looking for yet, but here's one that just shows what kind of person he was.

"Let all chaste women be despised. Sex with anyone is not just permissible but to be encouraged."

"Physical constraint, up to a certain point, is not so seriously wrong; for it has its roots in the original sex-conflict which we see in animals, and has often the effect of exciting Love in his highest and noblest shape. Some of the most passionate and permanent attachments have begun with rape. Rome was actually founded thereon. Similarly, murder of a faithless partner is ethically excusable, in a certain sense; for there may be some stars whose Nature is extreme violence. The collision of galaxies is a magnificent spectacle, after all."

I'll be back with more.

i used to be a mason back in the day op, it's no different than the mafia, but these people are completely organized and not even their own members can be caught doing dirt by other members. you have to do whatever they tell u to do no questions asked, that's how u get to the top. they do good for the sake of evil, that's why they can never be caught doing bad, but it is allowed as long as u can get away with it. once ur caught all ur brothers turn against u and u're on ur own from then on, or if u reveal their secrets u get kicked out and either get labeled a conspiracy theorists with a mental disorder or depending on the rank and influence u had u might get euthanized, i.e. jf kennedy.

Crowley did in fact pull a gun out on one of the people he was mountain climbing with early on in his adulthood.
His friend El_Ron Hubbard was a pedophile and a high level con-artist.

I think the "sacrifice of young boys" was an allusion to semen in context.  I actually read that book and its a veiled allegory to sex magick.  These were the ioics you couldn't talk about back then.  Also Padre Pederabo had a dark sense of humour about him.

A blind mason would be quite a novelty, as he could never be brought to light. Was he blind when he was made a mason or did he go blind after being raised?

There is a sort of fraternity within the fraternity. Many brothers are deeply spiritual people and find ever greater degrees of light exploring the craft's esoterica. Its not for the profane, as you can see from so many resonses in this thread. But if you go into it you will get out of it with interest a harvest for every good seed you sow.

I think Crowley was taking creative, imaginative, poetic and literary licence, as well as being partially ironic, humorous or mischevious , and largely allegorical. If I was to condemn him of being a child molester it would have to be based on evidence he actually was, not on anything he wrote. His books were crazy as hell, they cant be taken as literal. Any evidence of wrong doing must come from news or autobiographical or biographical works not his own magical writings.

Truth to be veiled, lies to be spoken.
We have seen this way of the Masons.

What good comes from a bad seed?

A good facade?

Truly we see it is a religion of perversion:

Quote:

That you may repeat it to the Brethren of the 32nd, 31st, and 30th degrees – THE MASONIC RELIGION should be by all of us initiates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of THE LUCIFERIAN DOCTRINE. . . Yes, LUCIFER IS GOD.
(...)the true and pure philosophical religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay; but Lucifer, God of Light and God of Good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the God of Darkness and Evil.

If you think the Bible is a scam this is a scam off a scam.  Why sink your invaluable energy into that?

Maybe take a step back and view a wider scope; I respect you're active in many aspects of the spiritual... perhaps meditate on this...

In fact if I might be so bold as to offer an idea:

Consulting the I Ching on your spiritual path.

Quote:

The friend who originally introduced me to the I Ching decided to make a scientific test of its objective reliability. His question was, "Is some ordering force actually at work, or is this merely total random chance?" For his test, he threw the coins randomly, challenging the I Ching to make sense. On the first throw, he ended with the oracle Wilhelm translates as "Youthful Folly"; the original text is translated thus: "It is not I who seek the young fool. The young fool seeks me. If he importunes, I give him no information." This was startling because it would be just the sort of reply you might expect a real oracle to make in response to a frivolous test of its authenticity.
But a stranger thing happened. My friend continued his test, throwing the coins three more times. Three more times he drew the oracle of "Youthful Folly." This can mean only one of two things: Either an extremely improbable and truly fantastic synchronistic coincidence occurred, or the oracle actually (generously) answered a question that should not have been asked, by warning of its foolhardiness. Four times in a row.
I have never known anyone who has used the I Ching to say it was wrong or that it misguided them. In my experience, it has never been wrong, by which I mean that although sometimes the response is very hard to understand or seems ambiguous, I have never seen a clearly unfavorable response in a favorable situation, or vice versa. And I have frequently seen responses clearly borne out.

http://www.dwildepress.net/critica/iching2.html

I especially value the I Ching interpretation by Alfred Huang.

I use the two coin method at present. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Ching_divination

Its so hard to know if becoming a mason is a bad idea, good idea or neutral. Half the people say they are good hearted charitable volunteers and masonry is to make good men better.

The other half say its a satanic cult and once you are in you are trapped.

How is someone supposed to make an informed decision when such wildly contradictory information is presented?

It seems like the only way to know is to join and by then it may be too late to back out.

Its just like psychedelics or any other tool. Its all how you use it. You can make being a mason the best choice of your life, or the worst. Its all up to you.

For instance...if I call myself a Satanist but all I do is good deeds and live correctly...does that make me evil? Of course not.

Do what you want. Try it out. Fuck it.

Maybe it is comprised of good-hearted, charitable volunteers who also adhere to a Satanic cult in their private time.

Not sure those aspects are contradictory.

The thing about groups with initiations is that once you are in you are in; that is the nature of an initiation, it is a transition to a new social sphere.  You go through an experience that the other members of the group have gone through, then for the rest of your life there is a group of people you hold an experience in common with.
This kind of happens in the psychedelic community -- the psychedelic experience is kind of like an initiation that sets a group apart.  Those with experience with more, and different, types of substances are kind of initiated into a further subset of individuals who have shared those specific experiences.
The knowledge of the psychedelic experience is not really secret, though it has been marked as kind of "evil" by the mainstream.

You likely stand greater risk of disappointment over not finding anything genuinely occult in terms of knowledge than risk of getting mixed up into something heinous.

Do you have to get circumsized if you become a Mason?

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an
invasion, butcher a hog, design a building, conn a ship, write a
sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the
dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve an
equation, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a
computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

why are insisting on going into the Masons when you're so fearful of common practices?

The number of people joining has been dropping drastically over the years because of the internet.  Lodges have been closing because of lack of funds.

Back before the internet, 99% of people who joined probably had no idea of what the initiation ceremony consisted of, since the info wasn't readily available. Once they were finally hoodwinked and half naked with the noose on and a sword on their chest, while reciting blood oaths, most of them probably thought....."wtf did I just get myself into?  If I try to leave right now, who knows what they'll do to me?  Maybe I've already seen too much.  I better just get this over with".

Nowadays, people research anything and everything online before they make choices, and all of the requirements and procedures for initiation and climbing the ranks is available online in exact detail.  Most people nowadays probably hear about it and think about maybe joining, then they go read about what's required, then change their mind.

This SHARING of knowledge between 8 billion people, called the internet...is naturally gonna butt heads with a club of only a few million, which desires to HIDE knowledge from people.

Looks like the internet has a stronger forehead....

the internet was never expected by the people directing the flow of history

the internet itself is the last vestige of hope for humanity

The shroomery should found its own cult/ religion just like Scientology.

--------------------
Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky

You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by

I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me

I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

That's why a shroomery religion or even commune could be really cool :awesomenod:
