I thought the 'G' stood for the generative principle both intellectually/mentally and sexually.

After long consideration I have decided to become a mason. I am being sponsored by a blind man who is my wife's associate.

I am very interested in occult knowledge, esoteric rituals and secret ceremonies Etc and I have read that the Masons are one of the last remaining "mystery religions".

I want knowledge and initiation into a mystery path.

Does anyone think this is a bad idea? Any advice ? Warnings?

I am also going to resume going to church and taking communion etc and going to Buddhist dharma centre and meditating and going to shamanic ayahuasca ceremonies and doing yoga classes.

I see it all as related.

What do you guys think of or know about masons and masonry? Is it good or evil? Any masons here? Any tips on how I can rise through the degrees of masonry ?

:haha:

This thread sounds like a bunch of elementary school playground talk where the third graders tell the second graders all kinds of cool shit the second graders arent cool enough to know... and all the second graders get a sense of adrenaline wanting to enter into this wonderous knowledge the third graders boasted about...

.....the majority of the 'affiliated' in this thread, being represented by the image of the second grader.

I used to work with a mason who was at the 31st or 33rd (I don't remember). He was also a shriner.
It sounds like the rituals are cool and fun and all, but if you're wanting to accomplish some deep and serious occult work then you're better off looking else where.

Try making a pilgrimage to wirikuta with the huichol, or sun dancing with some lakota.

Nope.
The circle I dance with is more Mexica anyways. It's a Lakota ceremony that has spread across the nations.

Would be very interested to learn more about the sun dance. I did sweat lodge once with first nations people near where I live and they did sun dance there , is that where you put hooks in your skin?

Here they put hooks in their skin and drag bison skulls from the hooks, even old ladies.

Yes. It's a small part of the ceremony, but westerners (me being one) are usually entranced by the notion of ceremonially piercing flesh.

Some circles, like the one I attend, don't allow women to pierce.
The ceremony was traditionally a men's ceremony. Woman were allowed to dance, but only men made offerings of flesh because women made their own sacrifice through child birth.
Now there are hundreds of sun dance circles and each one conducts it's ceremony differently, though the core elements remain the same.

Pulling buffalo skulls is an option, but most typically dance pierced from the tree.

Way too hard core for me I am afraid, I will stick to yoga, meditation, lucid dreaming and ayahuasca/dmt, but I will pass on the flesh piercing.

Wow.

Cool, but too hardcore for me.

The piercing really isn't so bad. After fasting for days you don't feel much pain.

You should seek out your connections in the first nations. Sweat more. Sit with them in medicine ceremony.
Learn to pray with the water and the fire. The earth and the sky. The moon and the sun.
They will teach you more than we humans can express by tongue.
