Yeah now I want to know too
-------------------- Ach en wee ben ik de klos, met mijn boog schoot ik een albatros... A philosopher is a person who knows less and less about more and more, until he knows nothing about everything.

The number of people joining has been dropping drastically over the years because of the internet. Lodges have been closing because of lack of funds.
Back before the internet, 99% of people who joined probably had no idea of what the initiation ceremony consisted of, since the info wasn't readily available. Once they were finally hoodwinked and half naked with the noose on and a sword on their chest, while reciting blood oaths, most of them probably thought....."wtf did I just get myself into? If I try to leave right now, who knows what they'll do to me? Maybe I've already seen too much. I better just get this over with".
Nowadays, people research anything and everything online before they make choices, and all of the requirements and procedures for initiation and climbing the ranks is available online in exact detail. Most people nowadays probably hear about it and think about maybe joining, then they go read about what's required, then change their mind.
This SHARING of knowledge between 8 billion people, called the internet...is naturally gonna butt heads with a club of only a few million, which desires to HIDE knowledge from people.
Looks like the internet has a stronger forehead....

The shroomery should found its own cult/ religion just like Scientology.
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

That's why a shroomery religion or even commune could be really cool
