I don't think anyone said it isn't psychoactive. If it weren't we'd be shipping cultures, not just spores.
The problem is that the amount of actives are an extremely low percentage when compared to fruits, or after the substrate has had multiple flushes.

Ok. Well, I was hesitant to even post this thread. I was reading all kinds of different information - everything from "it won't work" to "it may work it's just weak" to "you have to use cranberry juice" to.. you get the idea.
So, and obviously I don't have numbers. I don't know how much orange juice I added or what the mass of cake I used was. Maybe someone in the future can do a more quantitative analysis.

I'd be lying if I said I've never done what you did. But I used a spent substrate. I did get a little high, but it was perry nasty when I look back at it.
Glad you're safe tho. Substrates can have stuff in them you definitely don't want to consume

So can food. Anyway I'm gonna close this thread.
I'm seeing a lot of misinformation in this area. Maybe in the future I'll correct it (the misinformation).

The difference is that food left out for 5 weeks gets thrown out. Not really the same thing. We generally don't want to eat moldy bread or bacterial meat. There are always chances of those things being in a substrate. With a bad immune system, or if you consumed enough baddies, you could experience some insane "discomfort"
Also what munch said. Bam! http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14960167
