Also, how have you narrowed it down? Is the gauge not reaching or exceeding 15 psi, are you letting it cook for 90 minutes after you have let it reach pressure, and once you turn off the stove do you let the PC cool with the weighted stopper in place only removing it once the PC reaches 0 PSI and the little silver gauge drops to indicate there is no longer anymore pressure in the pot?

My manual didn't say to wash the ring, so that never entered my mind. There is no gauge. As far as I can tell, my PC never reached full pressure. I could lift this little blow off valve at any time, and nothing would happen. That was one of the things the manual actually did talk about. It said to test for pressure or to relieve pressure for early opening of the PC, just pull up on this little valve and it would blow off all the pressure. Just like an air compressor. Never had any effect, never blew anything out of there. Couldn't tell what was wrong.

Ah so we don't have the same PC. Doesn't even sound like you are reaching pressure. Do you get steam blowing out the port before you put the weight on top?

i would build a 12x24" hood and buy a presto 23 qt before I bought the larger AA models myself…(same expense)

bags will get u grain weight and less work.  not a shit load of jars several times a week.

Another consideration is that I've heard you can't use the large AA cookers on a flat-top electric range, which is a big deal for me since that's what I have.

They won't reach pressure or if they do it takes two hours. They're also really east to break the stove top with heavy pots too big for the stove

One of the smaller AA despite not being recommend to use on a glass top will work, just don't be a retard

I've got a Presto 23qt which is considerably lighter weight than the AA921, and I use it on a glass-top electric range without issue.
I've also heard that you're not supposed to use cast iron on a glass-top range, but I have a 10" grill pan and a 12" round deep skillet pan from Lodge, and I use both of those on the range top without problems.  I can't clang them around like I did when I had a Viking commercial gas range, but I can still use them.
