Strain Question: Small cubes?
    #22296741 - 09/27/15 12:46 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

I keep seeing that South American strains tend to grow larger; EQ, Amazonian, Argentina, etc.

Now, we all love seeing pics of those giant fruits!

:rollingsohard:

But... Giant mushrooms, while cool-looking, don't appeal to many people. Lots of mushroom enthusiasts like eating 4 or 5 medium sized mushrooms. NOT eating half of a giant stem. People like those caps! It may be mostly placebo, but if eating more caps makes people happy, who's to say they're wrong?

Here's my question:

What about strains with small-medium sized fruits?

I am especially interested in maximizing cap:stem ratio.

Any ideas? I know isolating is the obvious option. But if one could START with a small/medium fruiter, THEN isolate, all the better, yesno?

i know EXACTLY what you mean! i dont know how it is in other states but here everybody wants their shrooms with veils totally unripped, i tend to pick a little early just because of that, and it tends to keep them a bit smaller, and i find i get a stronger second flush doing it. i have had experienced people turn down shrooms because i let the veils break!

This thread has been closed.

Reason:
strain discussion goes in the strain thread stickied at the top.
it really has nothing to do with what variety you have you just need to get into cloning which still won't solve your problem as even with isolates you will get lots of medium/small fruits and they will get bigger in following flushes, all you can do is find consistency
