lol thanks, yea i don't like to fuck around.

I am doing wood based oyster trials, some of these logs are actually a blend of 10% fuel pellets pasteurized with the straw. Those logs gave me fewer clusters but there fuckin massive, like 1 lb each, they can be seen mostly in the cardboard box, that box is mostly 3 large clusters on top with 4-5 smaller clusters under em. I really want to perform more controlled experiments with fuel pellets mixed in straw since the fuel pellets are cheaper and store in smaller space. However, I've been changing my strain and methods for continuously improving yields, so it's hard to get a good controlled experiment.

Im also doing a trial of 3015 on 20% bran/fuel pellets and brewers grain/fuel pellets. Those bags will be stacked vertically and laid against some conduit for a wall of shrooms. Drake mentioned a method like this, although im not sure how close to his explanation i achieved. Im using hella legit rubberbands to hold each log firmly in place.

I'm doing sub with 40 % shredded ash chips soaked two hours in hot water. They don't contaminate but the give low yields. Solarity claims my oysters just don't like the sub. I refuse to believe that, oysters grow on wood in nature so I should be able to grow them on a wood based sub as well. I shredded fresh wood. May be I should let it rest for a while.  Green wood has still it's natural defense against fungi? Have a nice day! Looking forward to updates on your wall culture with wood pellets!

2-4 weeks from living is the typical recommended window for log inoculation, or fresh chips for that matter. I've successfully pushed that window out with proper pasteurization growing phoenix oyster in the past. If 40% is ash chips is the other 60% straw?

"soaked two hours in hot water" is not exactly the best method unless you are under explaining your methods, i would monitor those core temps closely. You want at least high 140-150F starting core temp, allowing it to drop over the course of pasteurization.

Yes it's 60 % straw, by hot water I meant pasteurization, sorry about that. Solarity mentioned Phoenix oyster as well, is that more agressive than blues? Or does it just like wood based sub more?

They are wood lovers. I was growing them on 100% blended mulch and they loved it.

Yes but many, such as 3015, have been genetically chosen to perform best on straw.

Yea things are good. I feel my 3015 isnt liking the heat, I hit a dip in production this week with a 105F heatwave, swamp cooler still keeping it below 80 though. Im glad i made some pink, gold and abalone. I just put an order for 3015 with hopes it will like the summer heat more, should have placed it 4 weeks ago.

I haven't been tracking the weight, but this week im looking at 30-35 lbs, 1-2 weeks ago i was pushing 50. First flushes are going fine but the subsequent flushes seem to be hesitant.

Hey Gr0wer, I asked this in another thread but you may not have seen it.
I was curious as to whether you have any concerns regarding fire risk within a fully automated GH. Seeing that automation requires a bit of electrical work in and around a humid environment, do you have any failsafes in place to mitigate any potential risks? electrical breakers for example?
