Still waiting on the misters. They should be in today. Busy making logs playing catch up from the holiday week. Made three logs each of SRA, blues, white elm, and pink. Just made 20 new jars of blue to focus on them more. Double hanging the logs is working great. Nice manageable size around 28-30lbs and I'm now trying just using three zip ties to join the two logs and skipping the s hooks. Since I'm shooting for max yield per sq ft I'm packing my logs super tight. One bail of straw makes 6 logs and I finally managed to get all that into one load of my pasteurizer using a wooden plate and clamps to keep the pile compressed and under water.  I really need to source a new drum with the lid, as I don't have a lid,  that would make things easier.

@ azur - I actually just posted a listing for wanted two Steel drums with locking lids. I really want to turn my pasteurizer into a hot water tank then have the pasteurizer next to my spawn table elevated and on a pivot so i can dump out the contents directly onto the spawn table. Fill the pasteurizer, pump up the pre heated water then drain it back into the tank when its done, dump and spawn. One day...

@filthyknees - On a typical week i only need to make 1 50lb bale of into 6 ~30lb logs and one batch of 21 quart spawn jars. This supplies me with more than enough spawn and logs to keep my chamber fully stocked @36 logs on a 6 week rotation, which should be enough time for about 3 flushes. I use anywhere from 12-18 quart jars per batch of 6 logs which leaves me with some extras for GTG jars for the following week. I do a lab day maybe once every 2-3 weeks making plates and master cultures. Besides that i spend another hour or so a week cleaning and probably 2-3 hours harvesting. Then 6 hours at farmers market and 3 hours distributing locally downtown.

Exhaust mark II is done. I went with a section of poly tube to help reduce fan noise out the exhaust. The pail is elevated over the fan to block objects and water drops from falling into the fan. When i had the fan facing horizontally water was puddling inside the fan housing from humidity and misting, now it has nowhere to puddle. I still need to get a 2x4 to fill the gap on either side of the exhaust between the bottom rail and floor. The 2x4s will be removable so i can hose out onto my driveway through the gap.

It's like a 4" gap suspended above it, no need for holes.

24/7 full blast minus a notch.

misters are laid out in the chamber, just need to glue it together and give it a whirl. Seems i messed up when i ordered the foggers. I thought i only needed one anti leak device but in fact you need one on each head. And it also seems like these wont even work without the anti leak device. The splitter part presses onto a nipple on the 1/2 NPT part, and it barely holds onto each other without putting the device between the two. Its all press fit. Why they even sell these foggers without the anti leak device included i cannot understand.

Misters are done, they work amazingly! They fill the whole chamber with a fine mist. They absolutely need the anti leak device so i placed an order for 10 and two spare fogger nozzles. I ended up using a 6' washer machine hose supply line for the short run from the timer to the filters on top.

Holy shit man. I gotta say, It's been great watching this operation grow. I've been following it since the beginning, cheeking in every so often. You know what your doing, and know where to find the solution if you don't. I have yet to read through this whole thread but it is definitely on my favorites list. 5 shrooms for you bud. I wish you the best. Thanks for teaching us all a thing or two

Thanks, it's a learning process and i like to share. No sense in someone else re inventing the wheel when others already tried it out and found a solution. Hopefully this thread will encourage and give guidance to others looking to start up a side business grow of there own. And yea this thread is a monster, 7 pages and like 100 replies. I'd like to say the build is done but who knows what improvements i might make.

So i was having issues with running my intake fan at full speed. It was causing bubbling on the swamp cooler lid where i had holes drilled for airflow, these bubbles were sending water onto the room floor to the point i had a small dribble of a river out of my grow room constantly. So basically i shouldn't have drilled holes on my pail lid. I was thinking of ducting my recirculation duct into the air intake anyways so i got a new tote that i can place the lid to contain splatter and direct airflow into ducting. Ill prolly end up using my circulation fan to feed chamber air into the ducting so i have fresh air mixing with the grow chamber air. This will reduce the dry non humid air from drying out fruits when the humidity is high and the swamp cooler or ultrasonics aren't on. This is especially important when you consider how i often see single digit humidity in my area.

New record, 36 lbs grown this week. Still have a few lbs to pick in a few days. Should be at full capacity by end of month, have 10 empty spots and 5 bags of "white elm" which apparently only pins in the 70s so out with them. I predict ~40 lbs/week from the walk in and another 10 from the tier unit once im at 100% capacity. Then i just need to find a good rhythm to keep it going. Then summer comes and fucks my whole game up and switch species/strains.

Yea, gets even hotter here, 105 is the norm in june, swamp coolers to the rescue!! That's the main reason why i started fiddling with swamp coolers to begin with. I should stay in the 80s even in the heat of summer, i'll grow pinks and other warm strains. The fact its a garage inside a townhome i get some heat/ac through the walls. And the door is north facing so im a bit cooler in the summer.

Upgraded my incubation today. Built a strong hanger using lag bolts and some old pallet wood and now im incubating my logs double stacked just like when there hung. There is a 2" PVC pipe drilled to the wall pushing the bags out off the wall. I also have more PVC to use as spacers, i plan to hang a second row in front of this row with PVC pinched between for more airflow/cooling. This gives me capacity of 16 logs in about 6 square feet. Then coupled with one other spot on the near side of my new wire rack i can fit 18 logs or 3 batches.

Ive also swapped back to the S hooks vs just using zip ties. this allows me to shuffle bags around easier and quickly swap locations. Also It was really hard trying to zip tie while holding the weight up.
