What a suprise!
    #2229446 - 01/08/04 09:39 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I was just looking through my spores, when i came across a Mazapatec syringe that i got off Hawk about 2 years ago(at least 2 years ago).It was wrapped up in a double ziplock and stuck in back of the produce drawer of my fridge.I had forgotten all about it.Must have fallen back there.
Anyway when i just found it it had a HUGE ball of Mycellium in it!
I have 3 questions.
#1- How did the spores germinate in the fridge and with no nutrients or anything?
#2 will it still work in jars or is it to old.I was always under the impression that a year or so was the maximum they were good.
Anything else helpfull would be great.I have never seen this before.I know people make suspension syringes but this was just a plain old spore syringe.
#3 is there a special way to innoculate using this (if still good) or do i just use as if it was a normal syringe? It seems like the mycelluim would get stuck in the needle?

Yes i cleaned my fridge this was fallen back in  back of the drawer.I wipe down my fridge when i clean it i dont disasemble it.I pulled the drawer out because  i dropped a print and it fell back there.Do you pull all the drawers and shelves out of your fridge alot.I find no need to go to those lengths my fridge stays clean.
:shake:

As long as your not seeing any thing that looks like contams, they should be fine.

The syringes were hard to get in focus.

The spores have started to grow mycelium. It is hard to see in these pix. You have to hold the syringe in the light just right to see the thin white mycelium fog around each spore cluster, but it is there. They need to incubate some more before I use them.
