Does this color seem right for Psilocybe Cyanescens mycelium? The green color has me concerned. Starts out white, but core seems to be turning to green.
Thoughts? Any assist much appreciated.

Let's make sure that we are talking ps cyan and not pan cyan. Ps cyan is a wood lover and pan cyan is a dung lover.
Ps cyan will not be green although it can bruise blue on agar. Ps cyan generally does not go rhizimorphic on agar.
Load the pics the correct way so that we can see then

Yes, Ps cyan the wood lover. The medium you see is Alder wood chips (very fine) and wheat bran.
I just read the Gartz paper and realized that I might have been keeping the jars way too warm. Gartz suggests 40 F, which is basically a refrigerator. Should I toss them in my fridge?
Should I toss the ones with green out entirely? Those seem to have some white going in one spot (last pic), but too risky to keep?

Contaminated. Start over. Sorry.
Looks like the contaminant originated in your inoculant.

I concur. Your syringe is very dirty. The good new is that you have 9 months to get some healthy mycelium growing. It's to late to start outdoor beads in the northern hemisphere

Thanks so much. Amazing to have a community like this one. :-)
Tahoe, in terms of timing, that occurred to me but I ordered the syringes in a batch before I knew that about the very different cultivation steps. I do live in the the Pacific NW, so I guess wait to start jars again in about Feb?
Actually, I should also say, not all my jars are contaminated .... so ... what might I do with the successful jars? I'm coastal and cool, but almost no frost danger here. Juiceh, your comment about the inoculant may be correct, as the good jars were a different syringe. The good jars are all Azurescens. Here are pics of those:

Also, any comment on the idea of 40F temp? Do any others on this conversation go that low with the temp for inoculated jars?

Based off threads I've seen, they can take frost and even snow. With the spawn now you could probably spawn it to a bed any time and see fruits next year. Maybe in the spring

Art shaman. If you area coastal and in the pnw, then ps cyans grow within 5 miles of you, for sure. They will start coming up in the next few weeks. Start reading in the hunting forum. Learn to find them. They do not grow in the forest. They grow near people.
If you have a house or access to making your own patch then you are in luck. You can start the patch now but patches need to be well established by early August to fruit in the fall. So start your patch anytime.
Ps alleni is much more adaptable than cyan. That would be the species to try to grow. Plus they are just as strong.
Try to return that syringe, it is not clean

Thanks again friends for the invaluable feedback!
Tahoe, yes, John Allen's Allenii. I actually know about him from the local mycology club, seen him talk, etc. The spore vendor I used did not list Allenii. Is there a vendor you could recommend?
Hunting forum. Got it. See you over there next ;-)
